Not enough power
I have the 4.8 or 4800 series engine in my truck. It does not have enough power and is always shifting into pasing gear going uphill. I have literally been passed by 4 cylynder cars going uphill while I cannot break the speed limit. I bought the vehicle hoping to buy a camper and pull for long distance. The salesman told me that this vehicle would do it with ease. Not true. This vehicle can barely pull a 4-wheeler without constraint. I have taken it back to the dealer twice and both times they assure me that every thing is fine. I don't think so.

terrible
I have a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado classic extended cab. First of all the 4.3 V-6 is either wimpy or the thing is geared wrong. It grinds between 35-40 mph. Thought that since the transmission needed to be replaced at 30,000 miles, it would rectify the problem, NO. Same thing. I was told it is common. Bad plan. The paint is nice, the seats are large and comfy. It rides great, but mechanically it has been a dissapointment. I have been a Ford guy for years and wanted to give GM another try at my loyalty. They failed. It is also depressing to know that I paid 25,000 for this truck and it is now worth a whopping 6500. Not good. I am stuck with it.

Driver & passenger ergonometric seat
I bought this2007 silverado classic in august 2007 and I find the seats very unconfortable.Ergonometric seats are not suitable to everyones. After 100km I can hardly walk It would be so simple to build standard seats with lumbar ajustment for those who need it.I also owned a 2003 dodge caravan that I can drive 1000km with no problems at all

Excellent overall except for the fuel mileage
Window sticker (5.3 v8) indicates 16 and 20 mpg. In 12, 181 miles average driving by a 71 year old male (long trips, short trips, etc.) the average mpg is 14.2. I consider this very poor and unacceptable. If I had known this fact even though it's a very nice truck I would not consider it one I would purchase. The cost of operation is going to be even higher as the perdiction of $3.30 average per gallon of gas this summer. (2008)

Not as good as GM hyped it to be.
I have a 2007 Silverado LT1 4.8 auto, ext. cab 2wd. Ride is still jittery, gas mileage is worse than my 2006 Silverado with 4wd and a 5.3 engine! Doors feel light and cheap when they close. Fit and finish are poor. Front seats (40/60) are tilted too far back cutting off your circulation if you have your legs extended. Need power seats to adjust. I've been a GM customer for 40 years but think it's time to look at other makers, like Toyota.

Happy
When I buy a new vehicle I usually have buyers remorse. I can not describe how happy I am with this truck. The doors are incredable and make getting things in and out out of the inside so much easier. The new compartments are well thought out, especially the ones with locks
