It’s alright. A lot has broken though. Air intake, stability bar, command start crapped out in less than a year. Fuel efficiency isn’t holding but that may be due to the air intake
First car feel safe to drive in in many years.
Just the right size outside length, not to long, not to wide. Great mirror vision. Stylish simple dash. Turbo power grrreat!!! Powerful Heating system. Beautiful sound system.
7 major repairs under 50,000 miles
I loved this car for the first 24,000 miles. It looks great, perfect for inner city parking. Gas mileage sucks, around 22mph at best, but so much fun driving the turbo engine. The gear shift lever broke at 24,000 miles. At 24,500 the windshield washer tune came loose in the hood and ruined the under hood liner. No liner replacement but they plugged in the hose to fix it. I have fixed it myself at least 3 more times. I kept smelling coolant at 29,000 miles, but they kept telling me they could find nothing ( 2 days without a car and no rental offered ) At 38,000 my car suddenly overheated, I towed it to the dealer, it was a cracked thermostat housing. Under warranty, no car for 2 days and no rental offered. At 39,500 the air conditioning died and it was out of warranty for that. $400 from my own mechanic. He was very surprised it died to soon. I was too! At just over 44,000 miles, I smelled coolant again. It was time for a new radiator!! Not covered, the dealer wanted $1300. They were surprised it went to quickly, and got me a “deal” from GM to “only” pay $500. The water pump also was bad and replaced under warranty. At 47,000 miles the gear shift lever broke again, I replaced it myself with the help of eBay and YouTube for under $20. Now, at just over 49,000 miles I smell coolant again, take it back to the dealer where they replaced the radiator 6 months before believing it was under warranty from their previous repair, but now it is the coolant recovery tank that is broken and they want another $400 to fix a $47.00 part. They asked GM if they wanted to help me out again, since all this is happening under 50,000 miles, but I got a big NO. I paid $150 for the diagnosis and am taking it to my mechanic and having it done for under $200, so I save at least $50 and have the pleasure of never giving Chevy any more of my money.
5 years in and going strong
Ok I’ve had this car for over 5 years. It’s very reliable, great on gas mileage, and has get up and go for a 4 cylinder. One thing only has gone wrong and it was a hose that needed replacing and the warranty covered it when it was just before the 5 year anniversary. I’ve gotten routine oil changes, bought all season tires, and had it’s routine tune ups. I used to drive it between states and then 25 miles to work each day and now I have only a 5 mile commute but either way dependable always. Even my music sounds great and the air and heat are fast and furious. I’m 6’2” and very comfortable. Best car I’ve ever owned.
I wanted to love it
This was a great little car, but it was in the shop almost every other week for leaks, smells, noises etc. I think it depends on the car, but mine was definitely a lemon.
Most reliable car I’ve owned
This car met all my needs and expectations. This was used for commuting to and from work. All miles are highway. I purchased this car brand new in 2014.
Have had many maintenance problems.
Not very good gas milage. Have had in the shop alot for problems. Now the struts are bad from just street driving. Heat pours in all the time because the dash know broke. We want to get rid of it.
Having problems with Air conditioning and cooling
Car is pretty good but I am having air conditioning problem and cooling problem. Maybe I would recommend this car. I'm questioning this car now that I'm getting close to paying it off.
Fun to drive and good gas mileage too!
It’s comfortable to drive and the turbo gives me plenty of power...gets me in and out of the traffic flow easily. Hatchback is very useful for cargo.
It is a very nice car. I have only had it a week, but seems to run well, and has nice interior, and lots of trunk space for a smaller car
