Just what I wanted

We looked for awhile to find a vehicle that would meet our family's needs...quad seating for 2 growing children and AWD. We bought our 2011 Traverse used (less than 30k miles) and could only be happier if fuel economy was better. Overall, we love the room and the ride, but don't expect to get more than 20-21 MPG on the highway.

great traveling car, it has a huge interior space, and lots of power even with 8 passengers loaded in the car.

Nicest Car Ever Owned

Very good alternative to minivan. Stylish, plenty of room, smooth ride and engine power. The front, middle and 3rd row seats provide plenty of leg and head room The dash and console layout are a little dated but very functional. Love the Onstar system that came with 3 months free and is a montly charge after that in which we plan to keep. Overall very please with the car.

Do not buy a Traverse

I traded an 06 trailblazer for a '11 Traverse only because I needed a higher seating capacity. It was the worst move I ever made. I was expecting to get better gas milage with a smaller engine but I never got any better than 13mpg driving around back roads and 17mpg on the highway. The transmission is very unresponsive and the engine sounds like your stressing it out just by pushing the gas. The head rests are terrible as they make your head angle forward, makes your sholders hurt on long trips. I had to get rid of it and got a '10 Tahoe and will NEVER go back. With the cylinder deactivation technology I get 20 mpg driving on back roads and 24 mpg on the highway and I have seating for 9 instead of 8. It is a much more comfortable seating arrangement too! FYI the Trailblazer is back in 2013! So wait for it rather than buy a Traverse as they are a waste of money.

Thank you God for this vehicle

Been looking at this car since 08' and finally the time came. Trade for a 05' Grand Caravan; it has been the best deal ever. Got a limited packet including running board, roof rack, heated seats, rearview cam, dimming rearview mirror, power seat and 20" wheels/rims. Spacious on middle seats and 3 road seat for being a SUV/crossover and plenty front seat head and leg room. I love the console with two separate compartments, cup-holders and the radio control on the steering wheel. I have reach between 16/17 MPG in city and 25 HWY. This was when brand new, it should be higher now. It is my wifes vehicle, but I love it a lot.

Great amenities and comfort

We purchased a Demo Traverse trading in our old Honda Odyssey. We went into the search thinking that we really wanted a Honda Pilot, but once we drove the Traverse, it was clear that this was a better designed vehicle. Split Rear seats were critical as we have 3 kids and we love the overall feel and features of the car.

Correct decision for family 7-seat Crossover

Ups:Love the silent, smooth ride both city and highway. INCREDIBLE handling and response for the vehicle size. Beautiful, stylish exterior design. Lots of space and storage compartments. Nicest visual impact on any family car we've had. Goodbye to minivans forever. The Onstar system with integrated hands free phone is really cool (but costs extra after 6 months trial). Really gives over 25mpg on highway. Downs: Purchased the LS base trim, and had to accept not so nice interior upholstery, steering wheel not wrapped in leather (wished it had at least a more ergonomic grip). The mechanism to move second row seats to access back row is less than nice and smooth. City mpg is 13 to 14, not so good, but understandable for the car size. Overall, good value for the money. I'm happy with the purchase as I was able to negotiate a nice deal. The savings are worth the things I gave up on luxury in interior details.

In love

Traded in my 07 H3 Hummer. I needed something with more seating and can haul a 20 ft aluminum boat and the Traverse is it! When towing the boat you don't even know it's there, it doesn't hesitate or bog down and rev up the RPM. My kids are teenagers and have no issues in the second or third row. I did add mini round mirrors just as an extra for backing up and such. I found the ride very comfortable as well as the kids with the second and third row. The ride is great, don't hear alot of road noise and runs real smooth. There is alot of storage and cargo space. Great pick up and go! The mileage is not exactly what I expected but is pretty good for the size of this car. You do have a little bit of rolling back on some big hills, again this is typical for larger SUvs.
