The perfect car (for me)

This is my second Volt. The first was a 2012 (first generation) and this is second gen. There have been many improvements over the gen1 Volt. More battery capacity, longer battery range (35 vs. 53), slightly better fuel economy on gas, uses regular gas instead of premium, better pickup (although the gen 1 was already really perky), and improved handling. The exterior more stylish and I get lots of compliments on just the looks of the car. It is a really fun car to drive overall and I expect to only need one fill up per year based on my driving habits.

Once you go EV you never go back

I had lots of hesitation about getting a plug-in and I think the Volt was a good start for me since I had range anxiety. But I'm very comfortable with this car and am never worried since it as a gas tank too. This car is reliable and has plenty of power on electric, I'd buy this car again.

Wonderful technology & reliability

Sporty styling, snappy electric performance, seamless transfer to gas engine after battery runs down. Hatchback makes it possible to load a lot of stuff; safety and infotainment top notch (Esp. Apple CarPlay). Only real drawback is cramped rear seat and low-roof requiring some bending to get in the driver's seat. That gets old when you're back is as stiff as mine.

Most exciting new car I have ever bought!

I was so excited to buy this car, it has been awesome! Setting up a 240v now! Might buy a second! It is shorter than I expected but makes up for it with leg room

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!

99% of my driving is on electricity, and that means 99% of my "fuel" is domestic. On electricity it's rated at 105 MPGe. When I need to go on a long trip, no charging station is EVER needed, because it uses gas on those RARE occasions when I need it, and I get a respectable 42 MPG on gasoline. No 220v charger is needed. The included 110v charger is all I need. I love this automobile.

Fantastic car.

Love the mileage and feel of this car. One small complaint is that the trunk needs to be slammed hard in order to properly close. Otherwise, though, we couldn't be happier.

Car is worth every penny.

Just completed my first 1000k miles and I have used up 1.2 gallons!!! I love it!! Styling is much better than previous model. I have since upgraded our electrical in the garage so car charges in 4ish hours.

Reliability is built in. Excellent auto!

Best car for the money, zero dollars spent in repairs after 52,000 miles. Very quiet, well built, comfortable seats, smooth ride. Rides like a luxury car.

Saved a lot on gas

Overall a very good car. Saved me a lot of money on gas. My one way to work is about 60km. I have driven 36k in 1 year and 3 months. Right now the average fuel consumption shows 0.7L/100km (I didn't monitor the fuel usage by myself, so I decide to trust the fuel consumption calculated by vehicle). Performance is good in local, but can be a little difficult to pass other vehicles on highway. I had one issue with the passenger side door button lock and need to bring it back to the dealer for repair. I can't lock or unlock the vehicle using the button on passenger side door. I am not so happy this issue since the car is only 1 year old.

Gas or Electric Your Choice

2016 Volt Premier with nearly 40,000 miles. With summer now here electric range is 55+ miles or more. So far for the last 800 miles just on the gas motor has been well over 50 mpg on regular 87 octane gasoline. Cost to charge the battery from empty is $1.85 for electricity here in Northwestern Oregon. Gas is well over $3 / gallon. So for less than 2 dollars we can go over 60 miles on electric and still get over 50 mpg when the battery is depleted and we are running just on the gas motor. With a push of a button with full or partially charged battery we can go from 100% electric to 100% gas engine. We have a 2010 Prius and it cost far less to drive the Volt than the Prius....
