I just purchased it; I hope it is reliable
I purchased the Ford Escape at AutoMax. I believe I made a good choice. I am pleased with the selection. Chris Drewry was the salesman and was very accommodating but not aggressive. I appreciated his style. I would recommend AutoMax to a friend. It will take a few years to determine if I would recommend the car or could vouch for its reliability. But the sales transaction was fine. Be aware that if you will be offered warranty/insurance info so give that consideration. I opted not to include the gap insurance since the car is used but did opt for the extended warranty. I hope this was a wise decision. Again, time will tell. Overall, a pleasant experience and I am pleased with my Escape! But, note, the review requires ratings on a vehicle I have owned 1 day.

Escape 2.0 turbo
Has lots of get up and go. Fits in any parking area because of the narrow footprint. I was able to get the bigger engine without springing for leather or the my touch system. Only 12,000. Miles so far a great car with about 23 mpg combined driving.

It's an ok car, nothing bad nothing special
It's just an ok car for the money you pay. It's not too bad, not too great either. The car works fine but its Sync system is full of issues and bugs. I took my car back to dealer 4 times and they couldn't fix the Sync and told me to just live with it.

Overall Good Vehicle
Couple of items that I hate about the vehicle: 1. The ignition switch is in a terribly awkward place to see to put the key in..and the taller the person the worse it is. You have to almost put your head in the lap of the passenger to see the switch to insert the key unless you want to play "find the hole" game by guessing without looking. 2. The Console Storage Well is exactly that...a deep well that you can place anything you will never need to find again..sort of a Black Hole. Last years model at least had a useful tray in the console.

Escaping the Average
I replaced a 2003 Acura MDX with the 2013 Ford Escape SEL with everything on it plus. Has more on it then the Titanium. The tech is great. Yes the Ford Sync can at times be irritating but then so can all computers. I like being able to program the Nav using google.maps on my phone and sending it to the car. The multiple map mode is really nice when it shows lane assistance. The nav also continues to show the directions in the center between the guages when the main display is doing something else - nice touch. The performance is great. I opted for the 2 liter Ecoboost motor and wow - it is quick from a start and runs effortlessly on the freeway. I have to watch the speed as it can climb fast in this car. I drive it like a sports car and most of my friends can't believe its a 4 cylinder. I drove the other small SUVs in this class and as far as performance, this one handily runs away with the prize. We got the siriusXM radio account and all the goodies and have not had a single issue with the car. Bought it with 3 miles on it and have put 18000 on it in the last 10 months with no problems. The mileage is as expected with the way I drive, fast. 22avg city and 30ish on the freeway. My wife gets better out of it driving like a normal person. Only thing I noticed kinda weird was the sunroof. We got the full big thing and when you kick the back of it up, it does not lift very far, almost like it is not opening all the way. I took it in to the dealer who looked at it and tore it down to see if something was wrong and after going out to the lot trying several of the other ones, it just doesnt open very far on when in the kicked up mode. Opening fully is fine when you open it to the back of the car. Just a little strange but not a big issue at all. The huge window on top is nice and makes it feel very open. All the windows have auto down AND auto up. The interior ambient lighting is cool and I like being able to adjust the color. One very cool feature is at night when you open a door that doors ambient lighting accents change to red regardless of the chosen color to indicate the door open. There is lots of neat things to like about this car and the amount of tech in it is obvious. So far so good. I am impressed with the build quality of the car and I have owned Honda, Acura, Toyota, Mazda and Dodge and others....

Proud to buy American again
We owned a Ford Explorer for 13 years and are looking forward to another long life with the Ford Escape. The amount of interior room and comfort are surprising.

Reliable Car
Found my car on Cars.com and thought it was too good to be true. Emailed the dealer and found it was worth looking into. Made the trip to the dealer and found that it was as advertised and made the purchase. I have no complaints about the car or the dealer. I would recommend Cars.com to anyone. It worked for me!

Some great; but I finally gave up
I bought a 2013 Titanium Escape; took delivery in Aug 2012 with a technician's view that the 2liter/torbo combo would give good economy and performance. It's an all wheel drive so that had an effect on mileage but 26.5 is my best hiway mileage; around town I average about 20. Small gas tank means I' refilling every other day, or so it seems. Very comfy seats, and lots of useable space, ZERO space in driver/passenger to store keys, phone, change so I had to carry a bag for all the stuff I want with me; and don't get me started on the "can't see in everything falls out glove box" After 20,000 mi I was done; due to six trips back to the dealer for unscheduled maintenace (one exhaust leak; all others related to SYNC and the other items listed above) Ford agreed to buy it back under the California Lemon Law. I did enjoy driving it; comfortable, handles well; lots of fun on windy roads, but SYNC headaches caused a loss of confidence. Gotta say Ford did a great job of trying to get it right.

Disappointed
I purchased my Escape in March 2013. So I've driven it about 6 months now. I average about 25 mpg and I'm okay with that. However, I am not okay with the electrical on my Escape. About every 3rd time we get in the car, if a door other than the driver's door is opened first, the horn starts honking. It's annoying and I tell people, don't buy a Ford!! Also interminently, the buttons on the dash just stop working. I can use the touch screen, but the on/off button for the radio, the volume on the radio, all just stop working. When I turn off the car and later turn it back on, they work fine. Because both are intermittent, the dealership can't see that anything is wrong. I AM ACTUALLY EMBARRASSED TO OWN THIS CAR. To top off my experience, the dealership's Customer Service Manager actually had the gall to tell me I was lying when I told her my paint problem when there when I purchased the car. I have overspray on my paint but they refuse to take ownership of the problem.
