Ecoboost power

The best thing about this truck is the motor. the Ecoboost is everything that Ford claims. The only drawaback to this truck and all of the new Fords is the Sync system is not all they claim it to be It is very glitchy and Im not staisfied with its performance

2012 FX4 Ecoboost Max Tow Luxury Pkg

What an AWESOME truck! It looks sharp, is quiet, is quick, is comfortable, incredible technology in drivetrain and electronics, returns decent fuel mileage. The best part is that there have been absolutely NO issues with this truck. Zero defects. I can't wait to tow the RV trailer once winter lets up. I'm looking forward to the Ecoboost performance when towing in the Rockies.

Doesn't drive like a truck - but acts like one

Recently purchased 2012 Lariat with a 6.5' bed. This truck is spacious and appears durable. The engine is smooth and powerful while the ride is as quiet as most luxury vehicles. On the downside, the plastic wood tone trim is a bit cheesy and the Sync system is harder to use than just using the normal button controls - even for the technologically savvy.

Nice, but not that much better

Brand new. 3.7L normally aspirated. My car was totaled. I had to move fast. These days new trucks provide a big bang for the buck and save you a lot in depreciation. I'm not really a truck guy who has to drive a truck. Overall, I would say that Ford has done an excellent job with this truck. I would also say that Ford has done an even better job of blowing a hole in the pricing model of the competition. USAA offers a big Chevy discount. Dodge has to offer Hemi as a no-cost upgrade. Chevy is still a fine truck, has slightly better amenities and a better warranty. Ford's high tech marvel? Well, you had better buy the extended warranty. (reasonably priced for the "basic" coverage, but still several hundred dollars. You buy it through other dealers whose names I shall not mention, not your own dealer). Ford will run on regular gas, but if you read the manual, it says it likes higher octane gas. Manual also says that if you live at high altitude and the regular is 86 octane instead of 87 octane --get some 87 or better octane anyway. Truck hesitates in getting out of the hole when you tromp on the gas, then rapidly accelerates, making an "angry hornet" sound instead of a V-8 type sound. Very good appointments for stripped truck. Quiet and comfortable. 16mpg city standard cab, gentle driving, still in break-in mode. Fairly nimble for a full size truck. Supposedly if you write away for their brochure, they'll send you a coupon for a big discount if you act fast. Might as well try, if you are serious. P.S. I already have a small rattle. This truck is a big hit. Ford has to run flat out to make them, and my truck was built on a Saturday.

F150 2012

I recently replaced my 2000 Ford Excursion with a Platinum F150 6 1/2 foot bed. It is so quiet that when I use the remote start when I insert the ingnition key to activate transmission, I thought engine killed. It is that quiet, the incredible Eco Boast V6. I was surprised when I reached 20 mpg during bad winter weather in January. The roads were icy and snow covered. I can't wait until better road conditions and even better mileage. Hats off to Randy Bluhm at V & H Ford and all the support staff. I have dealt with the business since 1978 and keep on going back.

I love my F150

This is my fourth and favorite F150. The 6 Speed transmission is awesome for towing or having some driving fun. Each time I buy an F150 I wonder how Ford made the better. I wish I could have gotten the Harley grill on my Lariat, I don't like the Lariat grill at all. It also needs more usb power ports. This truck runs, drives and tows great.

supercrew

ok I've owned this vehicle for 3 months and it's time others know, the ford is not what I thought. It looks like a box, the interior has creaks and gaps, and the leather is fake most everywhere on the seats. It drive very smooth though, corners tight, and tows smartly. Hits potholes and rattles my teeth, too stiff. Back seat is very roomy, but again the plastic creaks and seems cheap. I think I'm mad because the dealer wouldn't come down on price, and I feel I overpaid for the name. At least it'll last forever like my last two fords.

Great Truck!!

My 2nd King Ranch and by far the best of the two. Design, engine, interior room and amenities. It's a 150, but it's way more truck than I'll ever need. I dressed it up with a Line-X spray on bed liner, and a Line-X Aluminum Tonneau Cover. Both are color matched to the border color.

2012 Ford F150

What happened to the F150. Why does it look, feel and drive lke a box ? I used to love these trucks, but the sharp interior corners, actually hurt when I banged my elbow on the plastic. This was a leather loaded supercrew, and I drove it for a week getting ready to buy a new truck. The engine is either winding up and then goes full throttle when you need to pass, no in between. Nice springs and firm ride, stiff on the pot holes. Interior plastic shows some gaps and is easy to pop off, hard to put on. Could not figure out the Sync process. Bed is spacious, but I would need to pay to get it protected.
