Stick with Japan
I leased this car new in 2015, and I have babied it every step of the way. I don't think I ever exceeded 4,000 RPM (and when I approached this engine speed it was definitely a rarity), I only used the car for commuting and the occasional 250ish mile road trip. After 32,000 miles, I can say I cannot wait for this lease to end. If you want an average family sedan, stick with the Honda Accord or Toyota Camry. Chances are you don't care how they drive anyway, so you might as well just stick to something that won't break. - The check engine light is on weekly, the dealership is saying it might need a new engine. The car has STALLED (YES IT'S AN AUTOMATIC) on me on a number of occasions. I have an engineering buddy at Ford who has told me (after purchasing) that the 1.5L and 1.6L are the two least reliable engines Ford makes. The engine is also painfully slow, but I knew that going in so I can't complain about that really. - IF YOU MUST HAVE A FUSION, buy it with either the 2.0L or 2.5L engine. I've driven all three, and the only one that feels like it adequately moves the car is the most powerful one. Doesn't feel fast, just feels reasonably adequate. - The fuel economy numbers are a lie. I averaged about 25 mpg in mixed driving. Ford claimed it got 24mpg city and 37 highway. IN PURE HIGHWAY DRIVING, CRUISE CONTROL SET TO 65, I AVERAGE ABOUT 34 MPG... WITH THE 1.5! - The handling is WOEFUL. I used to have a 2013 Fusion that I liked, and that one had good steering and handled reasonably well for its size. They obviously decided over the years that it should instead be tuned for comfort. It ROLLS around in the corners, with very vague steering, that'll leave you wanting to only use it on perfectly straight highways. Very old school American car in this aspect. -The leather is wearing out - driver's seat is covered in creases and wrinkles, and the leather on the other 4 seats (almost never sat in...) feels very hard and brittle to the touch. They really used cheap leather here. Positives Although the reliability is crap and the leather quality cheap, there are still some positives: - Excellent stereo system. I don't even have the Sony, but even mine has 10 speakers and sounds great. - Very comfortable. Great seats, very roomy, you'll love it on road trips. - Decent enough navigation system - Many media sources. And... that's about it. All I can say is: Honda Accord drives better and gets better fuel economy. Its leather stands up better (I own one too with double the mileage). It's just a little bit smaller.

Excellent vehicle that blows away competition
The ride is comfortable and quiet. Test drove Chevy, Mazda, VW, Kia and none compare. The SE with 2.0 Ecoboost is reliable and has plenty of power. Currently have 40k miles and never had a problem. The 8? nav, extremely comfortable drivers seat and taught quiet ride feels more like a BMW. Had it now 2 years and love it more each day. Too bad Ford is stopping production... makes no sense.

Certified Used Car Purchase
I purchased this vehicle 2 weeks ago and so far I am enjoying it. Tall friend had plenty of leg room in passenger seat. Comfortable on several hour trip . Still learning how to do many things you can do in car. Mileage is close to what was stated it should get. Looking forward to having heated outside mirrors and stealing wheel. I have not owned long enough to comment on reliability but am hopeful. I know of several people who have or do own this vehicle and are happy with this vehicle even in winter driving. Mine has AWD as did my suv it is replacing and if it works as hood I will be a happy owner.
