Greatest Possible Price for this car. I would love to buy this. I think Merc and BMW should learn from Honda

Great car except for the BRAKES !

Bought an 2008 LX new and now have 50K miles on it. The car has been good across the board except for two things: Front seat comfort is poor, lumbar support is no where to be found. The other issue and the reason I cant recommend the car is its brakes. Im on my THIRD SET OF REAR PADS, but still driving on the original front pads. Honda needs to recall the rear calipers, the are not engineered correctly, I average only 16K-18K miles per rear set. Expensive to replace and Honda doesnt offer any assistance, at least my dealer doesnt. The 2009 has the same problem, but they fixed it for the 2010 models, but Honda yet doesnt offer a solution for 08 or 09. I asked if the 2010 calipers would fit my 08 and the dealer said no, still looking more into the issue. Other then that the car is fine, good gas mileage, good pick up and handles well. More road noise then my wifes 07 Accord, ( yes we own two) Skip the 08 and 09 and stay with either an 07 or go with a 2010 or newer.

Good car that wants to be excellent

After driving my Accord for 25000 miles,I can honestly say that it is a good reliable vehicle.Too bad Honda decontented the car and uses cheap materials so that the Accord does not upstage the Acura TL.Acura should be discontinued and those resources allocated to the Accord and the Honda brand.

Disappointed in this vehicle

Sets toooo low to the ground. Hard to get out of and in to it. Handling is good but that is all. Good gas mileage on long trips but we find we are extrememly tired after a lengthy drive and feel it is because the seats are small.

I love it!

I traded in my 2001 BMW 7 series and I'm not looking back. This is a great car at a fair price. Plenty of power and very good handling plus great gas mileage. I love it.

Honda Accord 2008 is a lemon! Stay away!

I am the owner of the Accord EX-L 2008 (manual transmission). During these 2 years I had to do several brake repairs/replacements. Rear brakes were worn at 16000 miles and replacement is more than $300. Honda agreed to split the replacement price in 50%. Leather seats have gotten some ugly stain/discoloration with cracks and small chips falling off on the sides were replaced under the manufacturer warranty. Rear shocks were replaced under warranty. There are issues with climate control unit. On freezing morning my heather would go nuts and blow out the coldest air it can produce while temperature control adjustment wouldn't work for 30-40 minutes! Summer time if it is over 85F A/C is not effective. If you have to stop by traffic light or parking A/C would give your pretty warm air. I am having issues with the transmission. Sometimes it wouldn't go to the third gear or even kick back. Gas mileage is 23-24 city/25-26 highway. Very noisy inside. Seems like every owner of Accord 2008 has similar complaints. Driver's seat is uncomfortable and gives me a back pain. Definitely, DON'T BUY HONDA!

Several Up and many Downs

The Accord we got is an EX-L V6 Auto with everything from a Deck Lid Spoiler to Navigation System, to a back-up camera. There is no question that we have one of the best Accords ever, but it certainly falls short of what I expected. First, the transmission jerks from first to second and second to third gear. With only 36,000 miles on it, the rubbery grey leather seats are discoloring and wrinkling into bunches, but the leather trim on the doors are fine. The lumbar support does not go into the seat very well either. Also, there passenger seat is too low, but we are short people. The interior plastic trim is surprisingly good, but the outside plastic has those strange lines. The clear rear-bumper-protector accessory has caused the bumper to develop a slight dip. Everyone else as already complained about the brakes, which are pretty bad. The worst thing is the VCM. As soon as you take your foot off the accelerator, the car goes to fewer cylinders but if you have to accelerate again (like catching back up to traffic) there is a major backlash and it's not at all subtle like Honda claims. On the other hand, there is so much to like. The amount of room in the Accord is immense and it actually handles with impressive accuracy. The back seats are better than the front. The fog lights are surprisingly better than the headlights. The VSA (to keep the car going in its path) is very helpful in snow handling but the Traction Control (to get the car started) is useless. Power is also impressive; 268hp is a lot even for this huge car. In city fuel economy is 17.8 and highway is a nice 25.2 but can be around the 30s, depending if you drive like me or my really fast dad. The navigation system is also very useful. It is also the best looking Honda in the current line-up. I hope this was useful to you.
