good car bad interior issues

i bought this car in 2007 with 28,000 miles. It was great for the first year and then i ran into some issues. The air bag sensors located in the seats of the car are very senstive and quiet easy to break. BEWARE people from pushing on the seats the air bag sensors will break. About two months after buying the car the passenger seat backing feel off. Its not a cheap fix im not the only civic driver to run into this problem, or the window weather striping falling in. Also last week my sun visor fell off... Other then these flaws with the interior its an awesome car. Im pushing 95,000. still running strong!

Best Car I've Owned

This car is awesome. I ended up buying a used (only 26k miles though) Civic Si with the navigation. I bought it because it was just what i was looking for. A sporty car that was very practical and reliable. First of all this car looks great inside and out. I get compliments all the time (silver with tinted windows and black rims) and the interior is pretty nice for the price. The nav system is very functional and looks so snazzy. Not only that but this car can move!! It's no Ferrari but it zips though traffic with ease and has plenty of power when I need it. Best of all it gets great gas mileage (if you cut down on the fun factor a little) and to top it all off I fit in this car which is more than a feat considering I'm 6' 4". I cannot speak for the reliability because I have only had the car for a week or so but it's a Honda. Those things go forever. If you are thinking of getting a Civic, pick up an Si and you will not regret it I promise!!

Dependable, Peppy and Great Value

This is my 2nd Honda Civic with an Accord in between and they were all great cars. I have the manual, LX model and really wanted the EX--but since it was car of the year too hard to find. Low Upkeep, great gas mileage (28-33)and VERY dependable. The cloth interior and carpet was not as durable as my 96 model but they added leather option in 07. MP3 connection was an added bonus since LX trim only has standard CD. Overall great value for the money and I put the miles on my Civic's--no problem.

Best car ever

I love this car! From the way it looks to the way it handles. It is super on gas! I have never owned a car that I enjoy driving as much as this one. I own a 2 door, so not sure how comfortable the back seats are. Usually just me in the car, occasionally my boyfriend, and he is over 6' and he rides comfortably. The defroster and heat work super fast. It will pass other cars with no hesitation. The gas mileage is what sold me on this car aside from the overall appearance of this car. Along with Honda's reputation. Everybody comments on this car. Now I park furthest from all buildings, can't stand the thought of other cars being close enough to ding my car with their doors. I am so happy with this car, when it finally does die, I will buy another Honda.

Love this car!

After months of looking I finally decided on a Honda. I totally love this car, mileage, comfort, fun to drive. I'm ususally alone driving so I don't know how comfortable the back is. After spending more than $40 per wk driving back and forth to work alone, I'm still driving on last weeks gas fill up. And I am thrilled. I've always heard good things about this brand of car, and now I'm a believer. And now I also get more exercise, because everywhere I go I pick the furthest parking space, I'll probably sob after my first ding in my car from somebody else. I'll drive this one till she won't go no more.

95% AWESOME

I bought this car used after my deployment in 2008 from a U.S. car dealer in Kaiserslautern, Germany. I loved the car despite selling it 10 months later because of having to get stationed in Turkey. What I liked: I loved the gas mileage(25-35mpg), quiet ride, the quick get-up on the autobahn, it's small size (comes in handy with those tiny European parking spots), quick heat/ac, one-touch digital mph to kph conversion (not a necessity for everyone, I know). Awesome car for roadtrips... I put on about 7,000 miles on it and drove to 5 or 6 different countries in it. What I didn't like: The raised digital spedometer (maybe it was just me, but I didn't care for it, and I felt like people judged me when I would speed), ice/snow traction was horrible (I had all-season tires on it, couldn't afford winter tires at the time), big blind spots in the front corners. Maintanance issues during the 10 months I owned it: First my car alarm went crazy. When I locked it and left it alone in the parking lot it would randomly go off (no one was near it, no wind, nothing... it just went off) so for a few weeks I didn't lock my door to engage the anti-theft so I wouldn't have to run outside and remote-unlock the car all hours of the day. Later I tried locking it again and the alarm never went off on it's own again. Secondly my brake pads needed to be replaced within three months (not a huge biggie, but EXPENSIVE on the German economy). Thirdly, my battery fried and I had to replace it within the 9th month of owning it (that I was able to accomplish right on base for a fair price). To sum up: you don't know a good thing until it's gone. Despite the few mechanical issues I had I really miss taking the car out on the autobahn or on the mountainy winding back roads to various castle sites. When I get back to the states I am definately going to try to find another one.

Low quality and unreliable

I bought my honda civic lx in 2006 and started to have problems with the engine at the end of... 2008. I was loosing oil and had to put new oil every 1,000 miles or so. Although I ask the honda mechanist to fix the problem, he could not do it. Today the engine died at 90,000 miles. Piece to his soul. The dealership explained me that the engine was actually burning the oil and ask me $4,400 to change the engine. Thank you Honda. I have probably not been very lucky with this. Cars are not meant to last forever. But you would expect a car to last for more than 4 years. You would also expect a warranty superior to 3yrs or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first. Others offer 100,000 miles / 10 yrs. Honda is not worth the pain. It is too expensive for what it is. A part of that, it was nice to drive it.

Do not buy this car.

I have owned my 2nd Honda (2006 Honda Civic)for 15 months now. In those 15 months I have forked out 1300 hundred dollars worth of repairs into it because of all the recalls and poor quality of the parts. It handles poorly in the snow even though I had to replace my tires due to the control arms recall. Now my car doesnt want to break when i am in reverse and a lady i work with (with the same make/model) is having the same issue with her car. Its a joke and I am goin to trade it in. Sadly i might not go with Honda this go around.

Low quality parts

I bought this car, for the shape and reviews. Further, I own a 2000 Accord, and was a fan of Honda. However, 3yrs into Honda Civic, I am very disappointed with the quality of the materials used. The car rattles, and the both the driver and passenger side visors split and broke on their own. In addition, while the car gives ~ 36 mpg highway with driver only at 60 mph, this drops to ~ 23mpg with a total of 5 passengers. The acceleration and drive suffers too with all 5 passengers, to the point that it is pathetic. As for visibility, the car has a lot of blind spots.

A great Car

I've read some reviews on here and people were complaining about the handling of the car. I don't know if they were used to a Porsche, but as a Honda owner times over I think the handling in the car is excellent. I traded my old Accord in for this little car (230,000 miles logged) and was pleasantly surprised by the Civic. The car had everything one would need and it's all stock. The only thing that's missing is the nav system and heated seats. This can be purchased through a package, but seriously... is that any major complaint? No. Now, the only downside to the car is that it needs a little more power. Gas mileage is great, so there's the trade off. If you want mileage go with the EX, if you want to burn up the road go for the Si. All in all a great car, safety features galore and unlike some other owners on this page- I haven't had one problem with it. Very pleased and if it lasts as long as my Accord SE did... I should be getting a new car in about 10 years.
