Attractive and Attention to Detail
I researched many cars this size and kept going back to the look of this coupe, but the 3D dashboard was a key selling feature--it's just too cool! Love the ergodynamics (with exception of the positioning of the window buttons. Would have given a higher score on Comfort, but I think the ride is a little rough and is too loud (needs sound dampening to cover the road noise, so the audio system is very hard to hear on certain type roads). Love the Atomic Blue. Love this 8th generation Civic!

Great Car, ZERO problems
I purchased a new 2008 Civic Coupe, manual transmission, and it has been a tremendous car. I get 33+mpg mixed highway and city driving. The car still runs just as well at 50k miles as the day I bought it. It is a smaller car, but for commuting it is perfect. I would strongly recommend the Civic to anyone who wants a reliable, affordable car.

A Great Car for Small People
I owned a 2008 manual-shift EX model for almost three years. I purchased it new and put 27,000 miles on it. I just traded it in. The reason: I'm six feet tall and was not comfortable in it. I would routinely bump my head or knees (or both) trying to get in and out of the car. The real killer was the emergency brake handle, located to the left of the console centerline-- right where it would dig into my outer thigh. These are things you don't discover in a fifteen-minute test drive. As far as mechanical and performance criteria, the car was fine. I got maybe 29 mpg with mostly city traffic. I noticed that the sound system volume varied directly with engine revolution-- a strange but tolerable quirk. My wife was comfortable in it, but then again she was not the primary driver. The Civic is perfect for people under six feet tall. I kind of regret not keeping it for my daughter, but she's still only 10 years old.

Old Dog, New Tricks
What can you say, it's a great Honda product. Civic Engineers don't have to worry about the newest technology, they just focus on the most reliable, "what works?" And trust me, if you're in this segment looking for a car, that's what you want. Except, you're getting a little more than you bargained for. The dash is very easy on the eye; worried about fuel consumption, watch your RPMs; MPH, right there; yet, there's more. It doesn't feel like a civic that you remember from 1992, yet it does. Just with more torque, a better stereo, great suspension, and the same fuel consumption and reliability you were looking for. I'd recommend this to anyone.

The wonderful car I owned
I have been looking for an economical and reliable car because I drove more than 300 miles every 2 weeks to go to work and back home for the weekend off. I found it on my 2008 Honda Civic. I'm very much satisfied with the gas consumption and it has a lot of power for a small category. The heated front seat helps a lot at winter time and the control buttons are not hard to operate. To summarize, I will say I am very satisfied with the overall performance of the car.

Mostly satisfied, but a few flaws...
I have had the 4-door automatic transmission LX for 3 years now. It's far superior to any other car I've owned (this is not saying much, however!), and so like many reviewers, I'll just mention a few drawbacks. (1) The front left pillar creates a fairly significant blind spot; (2) There is a lag upon accelerating from zero that surprised me; (3) I have had one sun visor replaced, as it split; (4) and most annoying, the fuel door unlock button doesn't always work. The service technician bent the latch inside the fuel door a little and deemed it fixed, but unforunately the problem recurs. Even after listing these items, though, I'm quite satisfied, perhaps because I endured driving a Stratus for the 10 prior years!
