2004 Honda CR-V consumer reviews

I have the 5 speed manual, and though its only a 4-cylindar engine, there is plenty of power. I'm averaging 24-25mpg combined highway and city driving. There is TONS of cargo room, the backseat is comfortable, and there are lots of little storage places (e.g. a drawer under the passenger seat). The only downside is that there is no model available with heated seats or leather interior (unless the new 2007 has them?). Also, the handling on turns (e.g. exit ramps) took some getting used to as I was used to a car with much lower center of gravity. Lastly, this seems to be a Honda problem not specific to the CRV, but you have to be careful about cellphones - don't put one on the passenger seat (even inside a bag!) as they can interfere with the computer system and turn off the passenger side airbag. Expensive to fix!

Had this vehicle since new. Superior quality interior(better than 2005-2006). A little noisy upon hard acceleration, but that's expected of a 4-cylinder motor. Shifts smoothly and almost effortlessly. Handles like a car. Takes getting used to real-time AWD when driving first time in snow (don't accelerate while turning). Great standard equipment and safety features. Excellent crash ratings! Good cargo volume and cabin transformation. Easy to get in and out. Great on gas. Honda quality says it all! Would definately recommend, but dislike the 05-06 interior and restyled front bumper with round blanks for foglights.

One owner. Near perfect condition. All maintenance up to date and performed by Honda dealership. Highway miles. Green with beige interior. New Goodyear steel belted radials rotated every 5,000 miles. CD player, picnic table, roomy, good mileage (26-29 mpg). Front wheel drive.
