Excellent car for the price

I never owned a Honda before but this won't be my last. I purchased the base model (LX) in August of 2015 and absolutely LOVE it. I drive alot and this car is perfect - it maneuvers around turns effortlessly, handles well in inclement weather and allows for transporting things with ease. I would have given it 5 stars all around but my main gripe is PLEASE MAKE ROOF RAILS FOR THE LX and also maybe a moon roof. I gave 4 stars for comfort because it is comfortable enough for what it is (compared to a luxury car). I can honestly say I would seriously consider purchasing this car again. Thanks Honda!

Lacklustre with Some Major Flaws

Bought this to replace an ancient Civic so not new to Hondas. First the plus points. The car cuts a dash and looks sharp with nice lines, looks like 4wd - shame it isn't an option in the UK. Load space is superb, this thing swallows cargo with ease and the so-called magic seats in the rear are more than occasionally useful. Leg room and head room generally OK and lots of room for stuff and knick knacks in the front. Final plus point, the LE spec is fairly well loaded (I avoided the sat nav) with safety pack, emergency braking, lane departure, front fogs, parking sensors, cruise control auto wipers auto lights including auto beam and hill start assist. All sounds great but the controls are not intuitive and take some learning. The manual is a bloody nightmare to navigate. The parking brake is electric, I hate electric parking brakes - call me a dinosaur but there it is. Sometimes it comes on when you kill the engine and sometimes it doesn't unless you press the button - what can possibly go wrong. The gearbox is vintage Honda, a classy piece of engineering; the powetrain however is not. Mine is a 1.5 petrol, it's slow, under-powered, detuned, rattly, noisy, unresponsive, inefficient and generally loathsome in every way possible. You will not enjoy driving this car, it has no spirit or spark. Handling is OK given the height of the car and body roll is not too bad but the road and engine noise makes short journeys seem long and long journeys a lot longer; but there's always the infotainment system. Oh dear. What an utter dog's breakfast this is. Unnavigable, unfathomable, illogical, frustrating, unreliable and positively dangerous to operate while driving. I've spent 30 years working in the tech sector and I can't fathom this thing - whoever coded and designed the UI for this should be strung up and shot - truly shocking work. Add to that the touch screen switches for fans and heaters and demisters. Driving this for a year and I still have no retentive memory for which switch does what, give me proper physical switchgear any day of the week - this is form over function at its worst. As for the blowers why no screen only option? Another idiotic oversight. Overall I'm pretty unimpressed and wouldn't buy another, however I did get a fantastic deal on this car which is ultimately what sealed the deal. On that basis I can live with it but had I paid full price I would be very disappointed.

Poor Gas Mileage/Storage

I bought my HR-V in Baton Rouge without prior research. I was looking for the CRV but the new ones were not available. I had previously owned the Honda Accord and wanted something that offered more visibility. When I saw the HR-V I loved the styling however after driving it for several months I have been disappointed. In comparison to the Accord the interior is much smaller. There is no storage space (for sunglasses, cds, change etc) and is very tight for adults. The gas mileage is horrible. I find that I am at the gas station more often that I was with my Accord (the HR-V has a small tank). The ECON button decreases power and does not save on gas and the AHA does not work with my samsung phone. Navigating through system for music and blue tooth is more difficult than it has to be. However I love the keyless entry, push button start, side assist camera and heated seats. I will be trading it in soon for something roomier with better gas mileage.

Poor quality!

Very poor quality vehicle, transmission, acceleration, brakes are the worst. Too much sound inside the vehicle when driving. Very poor quality leather seats. way too expensive for the type of vehicle they offer.

Absolutely Love The Choice I made.

I purchased my 2016 HR-V at Honda of Concord. The whole experience was one I will never forget. The staff (Tom Teiro, Ted Johnson, and Lester Leader) were all very attentive to my needs and didn't let me leave unsatisfied. We negotiated to get the best option for me. I loved how personable they were in making sure that I was indeed satisfied. Since having the car it has been nothing short of a Miracle from the sporty exterior look to the luxury inside. Not to mention, the smooth ride that it has to offer. Lastly, it's a family friendly car with all the extra storage possibilities. Definitely was not disappointed with the purchase.

Horrible!!!!

The driver seat is not made for humans. Head rest is tilted forward and cannot be adjusted. No low back support. No foot room for the driver. Rock hard left arm rest. In adjusting the steering wheel down, blocks the speedometer. No drink holders in the back. Gutless motor. No nobs to adjust music, climate. Only positive is the right turn camera. So uncomfortable, I took the hit and traded it back.
