You will get over it being a Hyundai...

I have a little over 4000 miles on my LX with sunroof and cd-changer and 17" wheels. I still can't believe I got this much car for that little money. I know they are going to raise the prices soon, so move fast. The hardest part about owning this car is the wincing when telling my friends I bought a Hyundai instead of the pre-owned Lexus or Infinity I went out looking for. Then they see it and ride in it, and I look like a genius! I really have nothing bad that I can say, other than that the mileage only averages 20 mpg in stop and go traffic. But then again, it's a V6, and has great pickup speed. Honestly, you will love this car. Oh, I thought of something, if you tint the windows, you lose a chunk of your radio reception, beacuse the antennae is in the back window. So I have to comfort myself with the 6 disc cd changer on drives out of the city. All in all, if you test drive the other brands in this class, test this one last. You will be able to make up your mind fairly easy. Then all you have to do is figure out how to tell your friends that you bought a Hyundai...:)

Got rid of the Tahoe

So, my wife and I had been shopping the Tahoe around at the Toyota, Honda, and Nissan dealerships. It was bad enough getting low-balled on trading in the Tahoe, but being chastized about how great the Camry, Accord and Altima are and how bad a situation I was in with my Tahoe. Well, first off I loved my Tahoe; it's a superb vehicle, just likes gas a lot. Secondly, you can't sell a car by being a jerk. We went to the local Hyundai dealer just to "check them out." We started off looking at Santa Fe's but they Sonata kept calling our name. A few hours later and we were out the door with a great Steel Grey GLS-V6, which I am very impressed with. This car has serious get up and go, the 5 speed with semi-manual is awesome; MP3 CD player and sound system are great, plenty of leg room in back even with the front seats all the way back. The trunk is enormous but the opening is a bit too small. Nice wheels, great looks and standard safety features that list down my arm. Now I do miss the size that my Tahoe gave my family, especially front driver leg room for those long hauls, but I don't miss 15mpg when I'm cruising on the highway, I enjoy the 25+ I'm getting in the Sonata. My wife has a Galant that she's loved since day 1 but now all she wants to do is drive MY Sonata around....hmmm. Seriously recommend this vehicle and now is a better time then ever to go for it! Big rebates a plus, too!

Sal

A realy nice car. I love the looks. It's a pity about the noisy suspension. I hate hitting a bump or manhole cover. The road noise from this car is excessive. It detracts from the fun of driving it.

Ecxellent Vehicle!!!!!

I found it making no sense to buy the four cylinder when the six is both cheaper and much more fun to drive than any car offered by any company! There are those who keep saying move over Camry and Accord but offerings by Audi and Volkswagon should take heed as well. This is a verry enjoyable and quite surprising vehicle. Passing is very confident and handling is as good as good or better as the low end MercedesBenz...seriously! Fit and finish is obviously where Hyundai chose to cut cost but make no mistake...everything works...well! Some materials are ill used in places and small gaps are noticable upon a close look. But nobs and hinges are well damped and seem to be free of excess play. No annoying beeps when turning on or off the sound system which is surprisingly good. I think exterior design is sharp and clean with the dual chrome exhaust pipes seprating it far from the competition on looks. And make no mistake...those dual exhaust aren't just for show! This car means business! When you need to go, the Sonata, with an effort of a much more expensive car, pulls away from slower traffic that makes you feel proud to own this car. The brakes are wonderful, providing lots of feel and security. If you really like driving..you will love this car. I do!

Love my 3rd Hyundai

First I owned a 99 Elantra. Then a 2004 Elantra. Both with no problems what so ever. Then I took my car to get serviced and got a loaner car. What did they give me a brand new 2006 Sonata. To boot only 3 miles on the car. When I first saw the car I could not believe that they gave me a new car as a loaner.(not expecting that). I must say I fell in love. The whole car was so much better than my Elantra. After I had the car for a day I took it back and started the paper work for a new one. 3 Hours later I had a Black GLS 4 cyl. Brand new, I picked the car out on the lot and had to wait till they pulled all the plastic and everything off from inside. Yep that NEW. AWESOME. Love my 3rd Hyundai, even better than my previous Elantras. I like the bigger, more roomier Sonata. Perfect. So Far. The Aezra looked nice also. WOW!!! They will soon be(to me they are) ahead of the domestic brands. Watch out, that day is coming up fast, just like a new V6 Sonata in your rearview mirror.

Camry's and Accord's Nightmare

I bought the GLS v-6 about 3 months ago. So far, the car has been great. The engine is quiet and the gas mileage is good for a large sedan with 235 H.P. The interior is crisp, with logically placed controls. The only complaints are that the steering wheel audio controls don't include a "seek" button. The trunk is very large, and the hinges don't fold into the trunk, thus making even more room. The car is very smooth over rough roads although some noise does travel through the car when you hit a pot hole. (this is true in most cars though). The car is truly a winner for hyundai. The only other complaint would be that the next generation better have collapsable side mirrors!! watch out in those automatic car washes! I highly recommend this car for people looking for a quiet, comfortable, SAFE, people hauler. The V-6 does make commuting more fun!!
