about time

This is my 9th jeep since 1978 [AMC] and by far the very best. Design and engineering have improved to be among the very best with up to date electronics. A few features should be standard [eg: auto dimming headlights] on higher priced models. Fuel economy is good at 22 MPG for the first 3000 miles. Congratulations o a job well done.

Sad....

Believe it or not, this is my second 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The first had a complete transmission system failure at 500 miles. Yes 500! The dealership replaced it with a new model which was great for the first few hundred miles. I started having issues with UConnect, radio and nav system. Like others have said, presets disappear, nav system shows car miles from where it actually is. "Red Screen of Death" happens (Radio requires service, contact dealer) and then the car will not start. Push the start button, instrument cluster looks like the car is running however there is not power to the engine. Lovely to pay $50K plus for a car and you have to pray that it will start. It has been in the shop since Monday. They were nice enough to put me in a lovely car similar to a Little Tykes Cozy Coupe. As I get ready to pay the car payment for the Jeep I am left to wonder why, oh, why I let my husband talk me out of the BMW 525i. Never again....

Security Plus

The 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee gives you such a secure feeling. The sound when the door closes tells you that it is solidly built, not the light weight sound you get from some vehicles. When you are sitting in the drivers seat you feel protected. The handling is far above most vehicles. It hugs the road and is very responsive. I highly recommend it. Can't wait for snow.

Lots of problems...not worth buying!

My husband and I loved our 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overload at first. Once we hit the 400 mile mark, it has gone downhill from there. It is very quite with a smooth ride, but has MANY quirks that the dealership can't seem to fix! The UConnect System has given us nothing, but trouble. The screen often goes black and won't turn on until the Jeep is turned off and it sits for a little while. Sometimes the screen just freezes so the Jeep has to be turned off for the system to restart and sometimes the system restarts itself on its own for no reason. I never know if my GPS will work from trip to trip...when it works, the system is awesome, but it only works around 50% of the time. Part of the time the GPS shows the vehicle on the wrong roads and going the wrong direction. When this happens, the system has even showed the vehicle many miles away from where we were located. In addition, the air ride suspension sometimes gets stuck in "raising" mode. The 2014 Jeep has a nice look and plenty of power, but if I knew what I know now, I would have never bought it. Now I feel like I'm stuck with a never ending problem that no one at the dealership wants to acknowledge.

Best ride in Grand Cherokee

This is the 5th Grand Cherokee that I have owned, my first was a 2001. this one just astounds me in the upgrade in ride and comfort compared to the 2010. better ride, quitter, and the u-connect system is very user friendly, overall I am thrilled with this vehicle. it feels like a luxury car instead of a more than capable SUV. Love the back up camera graphics (so clear) I would definitely recommend this vehicle. Great job Jeep Congrats.

Largest regret in my life.

I test drove almost every SUV over $45k before I test drove the 2014 Grand Cherokee. My first impression was 'wow' what a ride. Now my impression is nothing favorable. My suspension system overheats driving down a normal strait road and I get warnings to stop the car. The seals around the trim are all twisted and allowing wind and water in. The navigation system has me off the road and skydiving into lakes more than i'm on a road. I sometimes can program the nav while driving and sometimes I can't. The subwoofer goes crazy even if I turn the radio off. I lose radio preset stations, I lose the radio all together, I lose the touch screen sometimes, and sometimes my dashboard is a xmas tree and tells me EVERYTHING is failing. The rubber bushings for all door closures keep falling off. I would glue them on but now I don't have 1/2 of them and I'm waiting on the dealership for 3 weeks to get some for me to glue on. It's been in the dealership off and on for months and NOTHING has been fixed. Even an interior light that didn't work when I bought it is on order still 3 months later. The dealership says they haven't heard of these issues and they don't know what to do. In reading online and talking to others that I've ran into with the same vehicle it seems everyone is having the same problems. I have now pulled over to stop this car at least 8 times. It's over the top in failure. In addition, the ride was firm but very nice when I purchased it. I now have 4000 miles on it and it bounces all over the place. It's also an EXTREMELY loud motor when idling. My last engine was extremely quiet - it purred - and was strong and just as fast so I am comparing apples. I don't remember it being loud when I test drove it. I typically keep my cars for about 8-10 years and they always look new and run great when I sell them. I've already been out looking to trade this one in and it looks like I'll lose over 8k on this deal. This has to be the most expensive car to own due to the issues.

Tons of SUV for the money

The 2014 Jeep GC offers almost all the bells and whistles of the Mercedes ML (and in some instances, much more than the ML), but at a fraction of the cost -- tens of thousands less! The ride is outstanding. The electronic interface is FAR superior to Mercedes, in large part because it offers the ease of a huge intuitive touch screen, which Germans seem to shy away from. It's 4WD systems are extremely capable and versatile. The air suspension is fantastic. The interior is vastly improved from prior Jeep GCs. Although improved, they could still do a little better on the interior, and in the use of safety features like LED brake lights (not just LED tail lamps), but for so much less than its rivals, it's a clear winner that proves Americans can really build world class vehicles. Anyone who chooses the ML over the Jeep GC is just a snob with too much money.

Plagued with Issues

I agree with the last review . Having to call the dealer all the time for repair. Quality is pretty bad . When you call the customer service number they put you on hold and contact the dealer . Certainly not worth the money and hassle dealing with problems.
