Love the styling
I have had this car for almost 2 months. I am not sure I am getting the gas mileage on the sticker - it always resets itself every time I refill my tank, and starts in the low 20s, although on long trips - it reads 42+MPG that is more than the estimate. The car is fun to drive, sporty, has great space. I have found two drawbacks. One is the black interior. I have two dogs and a cat - their hair is tracked into the car on our clothing and shoes and it is very visible. Two is when I drive longer distances - the seats do become uncomfortable.

Surprising
We traded in our mini van for the 2013 Soul. We are 52 years old and will use the car for commuting and trips. We were impressed with the pricing, warranty and safety rating. We used the internet quote process to purchase, and bought for the quote price (about $15,500). We wanted something inexpensive, so opted for the base model with the auto transmission. There are still some nice features for the price. The stereo system is ok, but I listen to my music loud, so I'm hoping I don't blow the speakers too soon, which I did in my van. . Dealer financing with zero down was nice. . We've had it for about a week now (I'll review again after some time) and it seems to be all we thought it would be. Spacious interior was a must as husband is 6'6". He fits comfortable in driver or passenger seat. The interior is set up adequately, however I wish I'd have gotten a driver's side arm rest. I can use my handbag when necessary, but it's not as convenient. Wish they put in a spare tire instead of the flat repair product. We may want to purchase a spare wheel and tire at some point. The lumbar support seems inadequate so I bought a back cushion. . Warranty comes with 24/7 roadside assistance, but we have AAA, so that's not really needed. Powertrain (covers transmission) is covered for 10 years or 100,000 miles, however the engine is only covered for 6 years or 60,000 miles. We did not purchase an extended warranty through the dealer, but did opt for GAP insurance through our insurance agent for much less than what the dealer would charge. Since we didn't put anything down, we thought it would be a good idea, just in case. . The safety features are great and I would recommend this car for any young person's first car. I would feel safe having my son or daughter drive this. Dual front airbags, side airbags (in the seats) for driver and passenger, and side curtain airbags front to back. Passenger airbag turns off if no one is sitting in the passenger seat. . Haven't used the cargo area yet, but it seems adequate for our uses (suitcases and two small dogs). There is a cover for the cargo area available which I probably should have purchased. The spare tire area is covered, but the area above that is open which I don't like when the back seats are folded down. I also wish the back seats folded down flat to create a flat area for the dogs. . Performance is surprising, coming from a Dodge Caravan with a 3.8 liter engine. I drive it using the ECO drive, which is supposed to ensure the best gas mileage, however this does impact performance. I tend to have a lead foot (some say I drive too aggressively) so I may have to turn that off. We'll see. ;) . All in all we are happy with our choice and would recommend the car to anyone.

LuvMyNewSoul
This is my "granny-mobile!" I wanted 4-doors for hauling grand-babies, so I had to say goodbye to my beetle. As a vertically challenged driver, I am happy to be sitting up higher than the bug. I can see like I'm in my old mini-van but don't fell like I'm driving a big-#@$ van. The Soul is the same length as the beetle but with so much more interior room for rear Pax and cargo. I'm getting about 29 MPG around town, same as the beetle for the same size (2-liter) engine. For a tall car, there is very little "roll" when cornering. I love the Sirius radio and the backup cam with an impressive field-of-view. The sound system rocks. Not entirely comfortable without a spare tire. Not even a "donut". Bought a full sized rim and tire as a "fifth wheel". Gave up a little storage, but won't be anxious on "road trips". I wish I could have had a choice of interior color. Can't wait to see cookie crumbs on black upholstery. Oh well, it's all good.

Roomier on inside then it should be
I am a big fellow (6'-4", 440 lbs) and I can easily get in and out of this little car. The power is acceptable with seating for 5. Pretty nice little car with 32 MPG average so far
