Vehicle Overview
The rear-drive IS F is a performance variant of Lexus’ compact sport sedan, the IS. It’s based on the previous generation of the IS, which has been redesigned for 2014. The IS F comes only as a sedan with a 416-horsepower, 5.0-liter V-8 engine, and Lexus claims the IS F sprints from zero to 60 mph in 4.6 seconds. It competes with the Cadillac CTS-V and Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG.

The IS F gets LED fog lights, a carbon fiber rear spoiler and minor interior revisions.

- 5.0-liter V-8 engine cranks out 416 hp at 6,600 rpm and 371 pounds-feet of torque at 5,200 rpm
- Engine uses premium gas
- Eight-speed automatic with fluidic torque converter, manual mode and steering-wheel-mounted shift paddles
- Transmission can match engine rpm to vehicle speed when shifting
- Brakes with cross-drilled discs and six- and two-piston calipers in the front and rear, respectively
- Brembo-brand calipers are gloss black and bear the Lexus logo
- Stability system’s Sport mode allows more wheelspin and sliding before intervening
