  • My Mistress

I have had a love affair w the 3rd gen rx-7 ever since I saw one in person. The connection between car and driver is unparalleled. The 7500 redline is more of a suggestion than anything else. The car is well balanced and exhibits superior braking and cornering. There is no limits to the upgrades that can be done. That being said, if you dont love this car you will hate it. The interior is filled with cheap plastic that easily cracks and breaks (passenger door handle, driver map pocket lid, exterior door handles). The motor's internal temps are dangerously high. Upgrades to the radiator, AST tank, oil coolers, down pipe, intercooler, and cat-back are a must if you want to keep your motor from detonating. There are no guarantee for the life of these motors even with the "safety mods". If you dont have a mechanic who is familiar with these exact cars or you aren't willing to put a lot of time and effort into learning yourself, the car will never run right.

  • Most Reliable Car I've Owned - Just kidding.

The third generation of the RX-7, FD (with FD3S for the JDM and JM1FD for the USA VIN), featured an updated body design. The 13B-REW was the first-ever mass-produced sequential twin-turbocharger system to export from Japan, boosting power to 255 PS (188 kW; 252 hp) in 1993 and finally 280 PS (206 kW; 276 hp) by the time production ended in Japan in 2002.
