Real nice 4 wheel drive. All range. Big enough for my teenagers and sports. Good on gas mileage. V6 part replacement affordable. And easy to replace

Not built for the long haul

I bought the 2013 Nissan Rogue w/ SL package based on value, comfort, and curb appeal. It looked great and was loaded with features. The leather heated seats, sunroof, back seat comfort, and Bose speakers were all great pros. The steering is also tight and smooth, just the way I prefer. Shortly after buying the vehicle, however, I started having issues. The rear main seal started leaking and had to be replaced in the first 5k. I had to go back several times during the following summer as the engine would idle down really low and shake when the AC was on and I was sitting at a stop light. This was deemed the nature of the vehicle from everyone I went to. It seems the alternator may not be up to the task as this happened each time the AC pump kicked in. I was also immediately disappointed in the transmission. The CVT wants to hold back too aggressively coming down hill (improved when switched to sport mode, but then reduces fuel economy overall on your trip and causes other issues), it revs too high when accelerating, and just doesn't feel right, but no immediate issue. The car also seems very unsteady in park. It rocks very easily when unloading anything from the rear hatch, so you feel like you always need to make sure the parking brake is set. It also drifts back on a hill when in drive much worse than any other vehicle I've driven with an automatic transmission. 70k miles later, with some other issues like the control arms and CV joints needing replaced (despite only very normal driving and never any offroading), I am just ready to be rid of it. I keep hearing of all the disasters with these transmissions going out on others, and mine certainly feels worse than when new, so will likely trade it before that happens to me. Unfortunate as I just got it paid for.

Excellent vehicle

Not owned it very long but a very nice ride. It was very quiet and smooth on the highway, getting almost 24 miles per gallon. Seems very sturdy and reliable. We will see how it does this winter.

I'm 5'10" and fit comfortably front seat and back!

This vehicle is the perfect mix of a smaller SUV with a large interior feel. Plenty of get up and go, while maintaining good fuel economy.

The most reliable and dependable vehicle ever!

This vehicle combines performance, mileage, comfort and dependability all in one package. The versatility of having cargo space and fold down seating is a bonus. I am so happy with this vehicle!

stay away-transmission is junk

We purchased our 2013 rogue used with 70000 miles on it. Clean car fax, clean report from mechanic. Only 5000 miles into ownership, the transmission dropped into fail safe mode. Could only drive 60mph on a 75mph interstate. Limped it to a dealer,(200 miles from home) who told us that this is a common issue. Stupid us, didn't check that out before hand. It needed a transmission cooler, and that we had destroyed the valve body. $2700 to repair. We called Nissan, who told us too bad, it's yours. The dealer said they had seen 18 of them this year. We are demanding a higher level review from Nissan, obviously this is a common problem, and I'm reporting it to NHTSA as a dangerous defect. Comfortable to drive, but this is a dangerous issue. Seems to only be the 2013's, and Nissan wont stand behind their product. Do not buy one. Period.
