Fun to drive

I just brought this baby home the other day, and I must say I've enjoyed it even more than expected. I went from a Toyota truck to this Camry SE for fuel cost reasons and I'm actually o.k. with it. I really thought I would be bumming. I see this car being first in it's class when it's all said and done, and once again Toyota has really out done them self's on this car. It's fun to drive, handle's great and has plenty of toys on it. And although this rating system will not allow more than 3 stars for reliability, I'm sure this well constructed vehicle will be great for year's to come, with a great re-sale value as well. If your thinking about buying don't wait another minute.

Big Surprise! Toyota Convert

I purchased the SE, 4 Cyl. w/ 179 HP engine the end of December. Some critiques claim it is slow but I haven't found this at all. Very peppy, Sport Suspension is tight yet comfortable. The Entune Navigation System and Radio have been wonderful. Received a great price from my neighborhood dealer. Best deal to be found on a car w/an in-dash Nav System w/ quality, reliability and great looks. Thanks Toyota.

Best bang for the buck

I just purchased a 2012 Toyota Camry se v6. I usually purchase a new car every year. After purchasing this car it fell well above my expectations, with a sporty drive feel to it and plenty of power. It is far faster then I would of expected a Camry, I recommend the v6 . On top of the sporty feel and power very good on gas I average about 22mpg which I think is great for the way a drive this car. Interior is up to par with much more expensive cars I drove . For the price 29500 fully loaded with entune and the jbl sound system suede inserts on the seats. I would highly recommend this car.

Great quality car for the right price

The 2012 Camry (not LE) is a great small car. Big trunk, plenty of leg room for back seat passengers, good mileage (27.5 per mile so far), and with 10 airbags, traction and stability control is one of the safest cars on the road. It is also fun to drive. There is no luxury in this car, but for the price, is the perfect car for many.

Overall nice car, inside the knobs and dials feels cheap but looks good. Little lag as i have only LE 4cyl, but attitude black is cool. other than that love it.

Camry 2012 review

Hello friends, I am hereby giving you a fair review of the toyota camry 2012 which I have purchased in Nov 2011. The new generation (7th gen) car was really good. My car's model is LE. There are a lot of improvements like a 6 inch screen for audio on the front dashboard. It has 10 Airbags throughout the car which is unmatched by any car or make in the Automotive industry till now. The car is smooth once its speed is uniform, but takes more time (like 3 mins - 4mins) to go from 20 to 60mph, which I feel should be improved for an 2.4L engine. There is less noise inside the cabin than camry 2011. Overall, I would recommend this car. Here are few things which I found annoying. 1. This new model doesn't come with all weather floor mats and there are no mats which are exactly fitting for camry 2012 in the market yet (though there are some websites which claim that they have camry 2012 all weather floor mats) 2. you can't install the navigation system on an LE, even though you have the screen in the car. you can only have that option for SE and XLE. 3. The car gives less mileage if you are frequently driving only in the city and if you drive within 40-55 mph range. I have observed that it gives better mileage if you go for atleast 5-6 miles in 60-70mph range even in the city. Thnaks and hope that this review helped atleast one of you to have an idea on this new car and model. Red.

I can't believe this is a Camry ...

I bought a 2012 Camry SE 4-cyl in late November after test driving a number of cars and - with the exception of the Acura TSX - it was clearly the best. As part of my whittling down process, I drove an Acura TSX, Nissan Altima, Ford Fusion, both 4 and V6 Accord EXes, and the Camry SE and LE. As with one of the earlier reviewers, I had no intention of buying a Camry. In fact, I went shopping with the intention of replacing my 15 year old Accord with another Honda product. Test driving the Camry was an afterthought. I've never been impressed with Toyota handling or road feel but I was - frankly - blown away by the new Camry, more so the SE. As I said above, I am a long-time owner of an Accord (1996) that I love, and nothing killed me more than to have to dismiss Honda out-of-hand. But, the current generation of the Accord really is a barge. To add insult to injury, even though Honda claims to offer a 5-speed manual (which is what I really would have preferred), I could not find even one in the Boston area. In fact, the only car I could test drive with a manual transmission was the Acura TSX. While I think the Accord has the slight edge in cornering capability over the Camry SE, the 4-cyl doesn't accelerate anywhere near as vigorously as the Camry, has less gas mileage, and just feels heavy. But, the deal killer for me is Honda's atrocious "hunt-and-peck" automatic that doesn't ever really seem to know which gear it wants to be in. Add to that the obvious road noise (which seemed even more pronounced than in my 1996) and a clearly lower level of interior appointments than the Camry and it sealed the deal. The Fusion and Acura had very firm rides, in the case of the Acura bordering on punishing on rough surfaces. The Altima was an "also ran" from my perspective - narrow, little head room, and tippy handling (lots o' body roll in cornering). It was the first car to be eliminated from my search (Consumer Reports' glowing review notwithstanding). At the end of the process, the only serious contender to the Camry SE was the Acura TSX, but it costs nearly $7,000 more - without a navigation system - and it has a merciless ride compared to the Camry. I went into the car buying process never believing that I'd walk away with a Camry. In fact, I almost dismissed it out of hand, since my prior experience with Camrys was that they are bland and soft. Nothing could have surprised me more than how good the Camry SE feels and looks and I'm enjoying every minute of driving it - including the Entune system and the really nicely sculpted seats. This car is a winner! And, I hope people can put aside their preconceived notions about Camry (like mine) and see it for what it really is. Unlike Honda, Toyota seems to have "gotten the memo" and is serious about reestablishing its leadership. I only hope Honda will do the same, though cars like the new Civic tell me they may have a long way to go. I hope this helps anyone looking for a new car.

Best value for your dollar

I got the base 'L' model. I paid $20,300 plus taxes and registration. I am very happy with my purchase. The car handles like a Lexus without the price tag. Excellent fuel efficiency. I highly recommend this car.
