A Great Car for the Dollar

I just bought a 2012 Camry SE base model with power driver seat, body side moldings and carpeted floor mats. It is really quiet, has a smooth paddle-shiftable six-speed transmission and very comfortable seating. I like the firm suspension, but feel that the steering could use a bit more feedback. I test-drove a Honda Accord and liked it, except for the uncomfortable driver seat and the high interior noise level. I also drove a 2012 Hyundai Genesis 3.8 sedan, purposely testing it and the Camry SE on a very rough stretch of pavement. The Camry ride was much better than that of the Genesis which I found to be unstable and bouncy on rough roads, not what I would expect from a near-luxury car. Of these three vehicles, the Camry is the best car for the dollar, considering interior and trunk space, features, handling and fuel economy. The Camry is a bargain from my perspective.

Love my Camry

I purchased the 2012 Camry LE couple months ago for my wife and I have a 2010 Highlander. The Camry is a great car, you can't go wrong this. The engine is very quiet and smooth, handling is great. Acceleration is sufficient (but v6 will be better but consumes more gas....let's face it, majority of us dont need a v6). The neat thing is the new 6" LCD that provides tires pressure and mpg, blue tooth capacity. New dashboard design, 6 speed and 10 airbags. I also like the new exterior design. I recommeded this car!

great car

My first cars.com review..Felt compelled to write something..I have owned and driven allot of cars from a B BMW 530 to a Honda Civic.I never ever thought I would buy something that seemed so generic..After test driving other comparable brands I happened [by chance] to see a new camry in a mall parking lot and was real impressed with the interior.Test dove one and bought it on the spot.Ended up getting a Black with tan Int. leather loaded Xle 6 cylinder...The car drives better than anything I ever owned.Very close to the "tightness" of the BMW.I love the huge middle wood grain console.Do not be fooled that its just a camry. It is a great dive with a real sporty feel.As far as the value and what I paid was very reasonable .A fair price. Before making any judgements as I did...Go test drive the model I got and you will have a hard time deciding against this car.I read so many of these reviews about cars on this website and I felt it was my time I should share my oppinion.

Great Value for Money

Bought Toyota Camry 2012 SE 4 cylinder, but runs like 6 cylinder. I test drove Volvo S60, Honda Accord, Nissan Altima, Hyundai Sonata, Kia Optima, but nothing could come close to the driving comfort that Camry SE could provide. Previously I owned Honda Accord and also own BMW 5 series but 2012 Camry seems to be the best. Great interior, exterior, plenty of power with driving fun 7 reliable. It also delivers great Gas Mileage better than any other car in its class today in market.

Great Driving Car

I chose the SE - what a car!!! There are very few cars that under $30,000 that put this kind of smile on your face. Toyota has found the perfect blend of comfort, handling, power and fuel economy. This Camry leaps past the previous generation in NVH. After driving this one it is hard to go back. The base SE comes well equipped. Steering, ride and handling are especially good. Add into the equation Toyota's reliability and excellent resale and this car is a no brainer. Enjoy!

Bulletproof

Was in the market for a car for quite a few months. Looked at all types but kept coming back to the camry. I am so glad I did. First let me say I am a returning camry owner,08. What a difference! While I did like the old body style the new one is a bit more muscular. The interior is comparable with a lexus. At the time the interior was nice but compared to the 12's not a chance. I was so pleased with my 08 that I had to buy another. The 08 had 62k on it and not one problem ever! I coach both my sons baseball and football teams and the car was a work horse. from daily city driving to picking up 7 kids in the car with loads of equipment in the trunk. I even fit my sons bmx bike in the trunk! My wife has an audi A4 it is in the shop once every 3 months. From bad breaks to leaking head gaskets. Service is absurdly expensive and is always jammed packed. that would be my first red flag! Anyway, my 12 SE is fantastic i couldnt as for anything more. Paid 21,600 for the car and got 2.2% financing. My payment is the same from my 08. I cant wait to take a long drive just so i could enjoy this car more. I told my wife we could by two SE's for the price of a new A4 she wants, not listening though..By far the best camry i have owned.

big improvement

After a very careful decision, I bought a 2012 Toyota Camry SE that I traded a 2001 Accord in for about a week ago. I also have a 2007 Camry SE that I gave to my daughter. The new Camry is much better and comes with more options. It comes with standard heated seats and its power seats. I also test drove a 2012 Accord and a Lexus GS (although I knew i wasn't going to buy because its alot of money I just wanted to test drive) I never thought i say it but the Camry rode way better than the Lexus but did have alot of power. The new Accord was so uncomfortable, underpowered, the ride felt tight and stiff, and it also cost more than the Camry. The New Camry has plenty of power, plenty of room. I drove it to Rochester for thanksgiving and drove back home to Saratoga Springs,NY. The ride was so nice and comfortable the whole time, on the other Camry i would have back pains on long drives. My daughter will be ok with it though because shes young. The interior is a big improvement from the 2007. Its not bland this time it looks more like a Cadillac CTS, The dashboard is a much nicer layout and the controls are easier to use with a very good radio. Gas mileage combined is 30 mpg which is slightly better than the 2007. So I say I made the right choice.

best in class

Like many others I test drove accord, sonata and altima. Even tried Malibu and fusion. Even though I?m not entirely in love with exterior, interior and ride left all competitors far behind. Best in class price and futures left me no choice. 4cyl feels like small but perfectly balanced v-6 and still delivers 25-25MPG. Good job Toyota.
