Hybrid is Awesome

Bought a Hybrid XLE about two weeks ago, and am loving it. The ride is firm but very comfortable and the hybrid system is by far the most advanced in the market. I rent a ton of cars for work, so I feel pretty qualified to say that this Camry makes for a better overall car than the Fusion or Sonata. I am getting combined 39 mpg right now, and the great part is the hybrid actually has a lot of power when you need it to pass other cars, etc. The cars computer (Nav, Entune, Hybrid Controls) are actually fun to work with, too.

Unhappy with new car

Traded in our 2009 Camry for the 2012 in February. Big Mistake, wish we still had the 2009 or 10-11. The biggest problem is the mileage. We have not been able to get better than 28.5 mpg. We took two 840 mile trips with 98% being highway and could not get more than 28.5-28.8 mpg. That was calculating the tank size to mileage with some minor fuel left. We have spoken to a few other new owners and they have said the same thing. The dealer has been giving us the run around on this at 6500 miles now. Those average mileage indicators on the dash are a waste space, thay should be replaced with the old style temperature gauge. Also, the dealer stated that the new car had bigger more comfortable seats, a better ride, more interior room and better controls. So far, the ride is stiffer, the seats are smaller and harder, the entry is tighter (I have to move the seat back before I get in every time my wife drives it) which I didn't have to do with my 2009, and the dash controls are harder to deal with / more distracting when you are driving. The rear seating is unconfortable for everyone that has been in there for any distance beyond or local town and the leg room is not as good. The only positives we have to say is that the engine performance is better and the new dash display with the stereo controls and blue tooth is nice. I would recommend the car for quality, dependability and performance but that is it.

Impressed by this car!!!!!!

I had a 1997 LE-V4 nice commuter. A 2005 SE-V6 with the TRD suspension packege. VERY NICE... Then, my daughter was born and I thought that I needed to do the minivan/wagon thing so, I bought a V6 Venza in October 2011. The Venza is a good, stylish "I'm hanging my gloves up" type of vehicle. Could no longer take lack of excitement while driving and trade it in for a 2012 SE-V6. THE CAR IS AWESOME!!!! I had the car for three days now and I'd DRIVEN close to 600 miles looking for every turn I could find on the road. IT HANDLES AND IT IS FAST!!! I just notiiced all the cool features in it. I'll play with those later...

First Camry - 5th Toyota

I have the 2012 SE and I love it. It is quiet, smooth and has a nice sleek look from the front. The controls on the steering wheel are easy to use along with the standard GPS/radio. The Camry handles very well since it does have sport suspension. I still can't believe how quiet the car is on the highway - very little road noise. Very impressed.

Camry Second One

The resale value of used Camry's priced them so high showing there is a huge secondary demand. As a result of the secondary demand and previous history with Toyota (previously owned a Camry, 4 Runner, Toyota Tacoma) and now added a new 2012 Camry SE into the mix. Love the car, Dealership was awesome. Great experience and glad to be back in Toyota Family

Camry SE has redefined itself.

I have owned a Toyota Camry before. This new redesign is incredible and the ride is much improved. The interior is elegant and sporty in my SE trim level. Also the MPG I'm getting with the four cylinder rivals my older model Corolla. We are very impressed and we hope that Toyota continues to manufacture this great vehicle in the USA.

2012 Camry LE 2.5

I've got 1300 miles on my 2012 Camry LE 2.5. I can't find anything wrong with it. I checked the oil dipstick at 50 miles. Full and clear. I checked it at 1200 miles. Full and clear. Everything works perfectly. I do wish the LE came with the Michelin Primacy tires I had on my last car, but these tires are adequate for the way I drive. Perhaps it's the tire and steel wheel combo, but some road surfaces emit a bit of road noise. Most road surfaces don't. It's not a problem. It's still a reasonably quiet ride. I like the steering and I'm impressed with the engine and 6AT. Both are smoother and quieter than I expected and the engine has plenty of power for me even with the A/C on and a passenger aboard. That was a concern until I test drove this car. This is the right car at the right time for me. I didn't like the previous model enough to buy one. This car is so much better and I even like its looks inside and out.

Camry LE

I got my hands on a 2012 Camry LE with 300 miles on it and had it for 2 weeks so i cant say anything about long term dependability but if its like other Toyota's I'm sure that wont be an issue. Unfortunately this particular model is grossly underpowered and plain boring to drive. In the two weeks i had it i put about 3000 miles on it. The h/way cruising range is fantastic and i got 500+ miles per tank so between 32-35 mpg hwy. After a few hours of driving, my back was very sore and i realized the driver's seat is not very comfortable. i drive the same distance with my accord and have never had an issue with my back. the most annoying thing is that the vehicle up-shifts for every little hill that you go over. the only time it wont up-shift is if you're driving downhill or on a level road. the 6 speed trans is good but since the vehicle is underpowered, it upshifts at the very slightest hint of an up-hill. again i'm comparing it with my accord that i make the same trip on all the time. I would suggest to go the the V6 models if you dont want to get bored to death while driving....

Great hybrid

Camry hybrid has the style, comfort and smooth ride that would certainly satisfy the most demanding driver. The positioning of the instruments on the console and the steering wheel mounted controls are all easily accessible. The car gives me even better gas mileage than the advertised.
