Nice car totally renovated
The TOYOTA Highlander 2020 is Recommend, although I think it lacks a little height. But please don’t buy it in Seminole Toyota in sanford fl. They are deceptive and liars.

Very good car
When we bought this Highlander we had previously owned a Highlander Hybrid. Though we did enjoy it we had some very serious doubts in its long term reliability. Its performance was very good but questionable. The car would brake abruptly with no forewarning. It gave cautions for little or no reason and the batteries were only good for a very short amount of time which would mean a very costly replacement.

Good design
After driving the 2020 Highlander for 8 weeks, by far it is the best value for my money. It is solidly built, quiet, and smooth. I love the highlander.

Best brand I have ever owned
The new style Highlander rocks! Don't think I will ever own an American brand car again, they just don't run or last like the Toyota vehicles do.

Highlander Platinum beats Explorer Platinum
I test drove the 2020 Toyota Highlander Platinum vs the 2020 Explorer Platinum and chose the Toyota. The Toyota was AWD and did not have any available additional options. The MSRP was $50000. The only option was the technology package which includes an upgraded stereo, massage seats, and a bigger infotainment screen for $1000. The total MSRP of the Explorer was $60000. The Toyota dealers were holding firm at full MSRP, while the Ford dealers were discounting by $7000 so the final prices were close. (1) External appearance: The Toyota is pretty plain with uninspired styling. The Explorer has a rugged handsome look to it. The ST version looks even sharper. Winner: Explorer (2) Internal appearance: The Explorer had mediocre leather quality in all 3 rows, with two toned colors. The dash is covered in stitched leather with real wood accents in the dash and doors. Fit and finish was somewhat lacking with large gaps between the wood and the center console. The center console has hard plastics and looks cheap. The instrumentation panel is a large 12 inch digital screen. It has high quality graphics but it is not very customizable. Too often different views had large blank spaces. The Highlander generally had much higher quality of materials and fit and finish. The dashboard and infotainment screens were much better designed. The colors of the seats and dash were much more interesting. The Highlander seemed to be a higher class of vehicle. Winner: Highlander (3) Driving dynamics: The Explorer has a much more powerful 365 HP twin turbo V6 with a 10 speed automatic. The Highlander has a 295 HP naturally aspirated V6 with a 8 speed automatic. The Explorer is a bigger vehicle, 3 inches longer and wider and 500 pounds heavier. Resulting 0 to 60 for the Explorer is about 5.5 seconds and for the Highlander about 7.5 seconds. However, the Highlander delivers its power in a much smoother more linear fashion. The Highlander is more agile and handles better at slow speeds like in a parking lot. The rear while bias of the Explorer means it handles itself better at high speeds on twisty roads. The suspension of the Explorer is much stiffer. You will not feel the bumps as much in the Highlander. Both vehicles are fairly quiet but not luxury car quiet. For daily commuting and long road trips, the Highlander is far more comfortable. Winner: Highlander (3) Comfort: The Highlander seats in the first and second rows are far superior with better thigh support. However, the Explorer front seats are more adjustable, especially for the passenger side. Head room is better in the Explorer so for tall people, the Explorer is a better choice. Third row in both vehicles are cramped, but the Explorers is slighly roomier. Winner: Highlander (4) Technology: The main differentiator is the infotainment screen. The Highlander has a 12 inch screen mounted in landscape mode, while the Explorer has a 10 inch screen mounted in a portrait mode. The Highlander uses its screen space in a more useful way. For example, when the camera (front or rear) view is displayed, the Explorer confines the view to only the upper half of the screen (so approximately 5 inches wide by 4 inches tall) while the Highlander uses the whole screen (approximately 10 inches wide by 7 inches tall). The Highlander has a unique surround view flyover view, a very large bright heads up display, and the ability to use a camera view in the rear view mirror (useful when the rear is full of people and cargo). The Explorer has a few features not found in the Highlander: (a) electronic tilt and telescoping steering wheel. Its position can be saved with the seat settings (b) multiple position massage seats for the front (c) Automated one touch parallel and perpendicular parking. In general, the Highlander technology is better designed and easier to use. Winner: Highlander (5) Utility: The Explorer is a bigger vehicle. However, its maximum seating capacity is 6 with the captain's chairs while the Highlander can seat 7 with the captain's chairs. The room in the 3rd row is superior in the Explorer. The Explorer has more cargo room and more towing capacity. It can power fold its rear two rows while the Highlander must use manual latches. Winner: Explorer Overall winner: Highlander. A more attractive higher quality interior, easier to drive, a more comfortable ride, most commonly used tech is better.

Most reliable car I’ve owned.
This car met and exceeded all my needs. After getting in an accident with my 2017 TOYOTA Highlander that saved my life I will never go with another car. I feel safe and secure and stylish :).

Smooth Riding SUV
Perfect for a road trip, the new Highlander offers a number of improvements over the previous model. Notably, the navigation system is much better as is the Infotainment system. It is much quieter than our 2013 Highlander was, and the 26 mpg that we've been averaging (only 500 miles) is acceptable. My only negative impression is that the new model comes with a temporary (donut) spare... Like all the other Toyotas we have owned (7), we are counting on this vehicle to be reliable above everything else.

New Redesigned 2020 Toyota Highlander XLE
The 2020 redesigned Highlander continues the high standards of the Toyota Highlander line. The new color "Moon Dust" is very nice. Depending on the lighting it looks blue or silver. I like not having to pay the expensive navigation system since it has incorporated apple car play. The touch display is larger which gives a better view of the backup camera. Changes to the car include the rear hatch window does not open. The rear center cupholder between the middle seats is now attached to the floor instead of on a hinge as was in the 2017 version. The front seats are different, not as long but comfortable. The head rest on the front seat’s headrest come a little closer to the head. The exterior lights are now all LED and match in color. The dashboard has a new layout so you need to get use to the new locations for controls. The engine response is better than the 2017 in the normal setting. The expected Highway MPG is expected to be better. I have yet to experience this as of the post. The back seats have new control latches for adjusting the seats and access to the 3rd row seats. There is more room in the rear cargo area for luggage to lay flat instead of standing it without folding the 3rd row. Over all I am pleased with the new changes. I will need more drive time to give more detailed review. Also note it is also cost a little more due to the redesign and limited availability.

Great Safety Features
So I got the platinum trim AWD model....so smooth, and so many bells and whistles, but designed to provide a safer ride. I read a number of reviews about the vehicle before buying....a couple of threads run through some of the reviews...the small rear window...yep, it is small, but still very functional and serves its purpose...I've had some initial trouble with the door pillars being so wide it's sometimes difficult for me to see as much as I would like when stopped at a crossroads or cross street...But I think I'll adjust to that....this vehicle is solidly built...loving it.
