It's 5 yrs old and I still love it!
I'm a 50+ year old female. Bought the Tundra for my husband but he was too slow giving up an old car so I took the pickup. What a nice pickup it has been. It's got 90,000 miles and has only oil changes and a set of tire and now finally the big change of the belts, etc. The mileage is 19 - 20, but it's paid for and I'll drive it til it dies which should be a long time from now if the first 5 years are an indication of expected performance. Two complaints: big turning radius that makes parking interesting and the back doors that open "backwards" that make putting groceries in a little tricky. We took a roadtrip from the SE to the SW and then the midwest. Put on 7000 miles in 3 weeks. Was a very comfortable ride for 2 adults.

"Excellent truck, Hasn't let me down yet"
"After purchasing my Toyota Tundra in September of 2003, I have been nothing but pleased. I have not had a single mechanical issue with the truck other than routine maintenance, my truck also has over 100,000 miles on it. I have hauled over 10,000 pounds of weight in the back and the power of the truck made it feel like I had 10 pounds in the back. Soon I will be handing the truck over to my son, and I'm quite confident the truck will not let him down. It is a superior truck and I will certainly be buying another one."

EXPENSIVE PIECE OF JUNK
When I purchased my Tundra in 2003, I believed that it was a powerful towing truck as advertised, but it wasn?t. It was supposed to be a 240 horse power, able to pull 2+ tons. Instead it's a truck with 240, 3 legged handicapped horses can't even pull it's own weight. After doing some research, talking to mechanics and reading the reports on website, my Tundra's transmission is too small for the engine. The transmission is the same size as the V6 while my truck is V8. A Toyota mechanic told me not to tow or haul anything, or else it will strip the transmission. That was the whole reason why I bought V8 Tundra. Now I am driving my V8 like I have a 4 cylinder engine.

Plenty of power, but need to gas to perform!
I bought my SR5 brand new in Jan '04. That's when fuel prices were about $1.39 or so. Now with over 93k miles it still runs and feels like it did when new. I have had some problems with the check engine light always coming on. Seems a sensor or the loose fuel cap warning each time. After a couple of years I stopped taking it in for that check engine light. It actually goes out on occasion, but always returns.... Dealer says same thing; make sure the gas cap is tight...Of course it always is, but it never got solved. That's a minor complaint. The thing now is fuel here is $3 plus a gallon. It now cost about $75-80 for fillup. With that I could go about 400 miles on a tank. With my 100 mile daily commute, I can no longer afford to keep filling up the fuel tank. Yes, that's $75 every 4 days just for gas. Ouch!!!! Anyway, I relunctely traded it today for an economy Nissan Altima. I would say if you have short commutes or hardly drive great distances, this is a great vehicle to own. For me right now, it doesn't make good economical sense to own it. I hope the future buyer of my Tundra has deep pockets to keep that tank full.

Will Never Sell!
It's difficult to find a true full size truck over the last couple of years. You either have to go with enormous or small. The 2003 Tundra is the perfect size. I've been driving her for 4 years now and have yet to have any problems at all! It's not fancy and doesn't sport a TV, it's a TRUCK and that's what I love about it. Best purchase I've ever made.

The sweetest ride in a truck
I bought this truck new and have not had a single problem with it. Toyota is simply one of the best names out there. When you drive this truck, the ride is so smooth, it feels more like a car. But don't let that fool you. It's tough and has gotten me out of a few sticky situations (driving places I shouldn't have even been). My friends are envoius. The interior is very well-engineered. They thought of everything (6 cup holders and extra power outlets, roomy console and "hidden" compartment). Seats are cushy yet supportive. They even put handles on the inside of the rear access doors. Somehow Toyota has managed to make a rugged truck with a luxurious feel. Who woulda thought?

Beauty and the Beast
I have been shopping for pick up trucks for over a year. I tow a 18 foot boat, do runs to the dump, go into the woods to get some fire wood etc..I was set on getting a Dodge Dakota,,I didjnt want a little toy truck, the F150's and Rams seemed like too much truck for my needs. I started noticing the Tundra and spoke to alot of owners all who have loved them,,its much bigger than I originally wanted but Im glad i didnt get the Dakota and went with this thing..I got a great deal on a 2003 Limited,,full leather, TRD, Tow Package, Cold weather package with 45,000 miles on it for $19,000. I think I got the steal of the century..The ruck looks awsome, its very very quiet, handles well and accelerates smoothly but with confidence,,best vehicle i have ever purchased, im so happy

Best Riding & Handling Vehicle I've Owned
This vehicle is now 3 yrs old. There are no rattles, sqeaks or air leaks. The handling and ride are superb. My trips though few to the dealership have been a totally new experience. I was treated like a valued customer not told to get in line and wait. I can hardly wait for my next New Toyota Tundra.

This is one of the most reliable trucks around!!!
100% great value!!! I love this truck, it has so much power from that 4.7L V8. My buddy bought a Nissan Titan and this thing hangs right with him. My buddy's truck has already been in the shop like 3 times and he has only had it like one year!!!
