great truck

Fantastic truck, miss my landcruiser, but it was time and the Tundra is amazing! Respectable gas mileage considering it is a full size double cab. Parking and navigating takes getting used to.

06 Tundra is great

The only complaint so far is the after-market has yet to really gone out and supplied lifts, heavy duty bumpers, engine performance up-grades and other cool up-grades.

2006 Tundra review-v-6

I bought the Tundra for these top reasons. 1.Toyota's reputation for dependibility. And after three years its 100% dependable. 2 This truck had the best gas milage for a V-6 at 18 city and 22 highway. I average about 20 mph. 3.This basic work truck had cruise; a must. 4. It drives smooth and not to bumpy plus it corners very well. I often times have to break going around a corner behind a BMW. (while I'm not breaking) The only negatives I have is the cruise broke before the warranty ran out was fixed but didn't last. I still have not gotten it fixed because G. Auto in Naples FLorida's service is slow and they don't seem to know how to fix this cruise control. My passenger door doesn't close properly. When you open the door it drops slightly. It takes a big slam to close it. I took it in for repair and they deny there is a problem. It's enough to make me look elsewhere if I ever need to replace the truck. Maybe the best thing is to find the salesman who sold you the truck and ask them to help you with the repair. Mark S.

noisy engine

engine noise inside the cab from the 4.7 litre is a little loud. The muffler system is tight, but the engine makes a roaring sound that is heard inside the cab. Maybe the exhaust manifold is making this noise although the dealer can not find any loose item. When I first bought the vehicle it was quiet and I had to check the tach to make sure the engine was running. Not now.

Great Truck!

I bought my Tundra used last spring with 36K miles to use in my landscape business and all-around driving. It's been great. It's comfortable and very capable. Pulls my loaded landscape trailer without a wimper and gets better gas milage loaded than my V-6 Ranger did empty. Roomy, comfortable interior; smooth, quiet ride and descent performance. I drove a Chevy, GMC and Ford F-150 before buying this truck. My wife settled it when she could easily see over the dash without power seats which she couldn't do with the Chevy or GMC.

Love this truck!

My husband purchased my truck for me new in 2006.It is a Tundra Access cab, SR5 package. I can not say enough good things about this truck.Interior is very nice and you do feel like you are in a car,and the smoothness is what you would expect from a car,not a truck. It is a very strong truck and handles extremely well.I pull my horse trailer and horses with my truck and it does it like a champ. You are looking at a 16 ft horse trailer with anywhere from 2000.00 - 4000.00 pounds of additional weight on top of the trailer weight and I have never had any problems out of it. Have also pulled a car trailer with a full size chevy Z71 on it and it did not slow it down at all that we could tell. The only repair I had to have was the dealer replacing the CD player due to a malfunction(would not eject the CD)no other mechanical issues at all, inside or outside.Get around 18 MPG fuel. I plan to keep this truck for many years to come.

Toyota Tundra Like a Rock

I purchased the Toyota Tundra pickup crew cab with the Off Road package in the spring of this year. The comfort and ride is unbelievable. I have traveled aprox 6,000 miles so far and the fuel milage is great around 19 miles per gallon with the off road tires and four wheel drive, The engine is very responsive and will light the tires up if you don't watch it. The cab is very roomy and the entire width of the back window goes down (THIS IS A GREAT OPTION), this works perfect when you hall 16 ft length lumber. I changed the oil and the filter access is so easy to get to from the top of the engine, you do not have to lay on the ground. The transmission is so responsive when climbing steep hills the transmission stays in a lower gear to provide excellent power when climbing and then down shift automatic when going down the other side. I am so happy that I purchased this vehicle and will keep for many years. This is the third toyota truck that I have owned in 20 years and very happy with the quality. Keep up the Good Work Toyota.

Drive all kinds of pickups but bought this one

Rides like a Buick Century and pulls loads like a Mac Truck all with the simple needs, and luxury add ons, you could want. More truck for the money.

WOW!!!

With our two boys at 11 and 13 and outgrowing her Liberty and my Cherokee and Ranger, we decided to get a bigger vehicle. My wife wanted an SUV, I wanted a 4-door pickup. We both won when she test drove this SR5 Tundra. Any and all thoughts of a SUV disappeared! It's loaded with cool options, is plenty powerful and rides like a car. The interior room is incredible....the boys will never outgrow it! We've only had it for a month now, and can't comment on durability, but Toyota's already done that. Give these a look!
