Toyota disappointment

Not the best truck I've owned! The truck was good to 100,000 miles. After that, it turned into a money pit! My mechanic even said "The way you maintain your vehicles, this should not be happening! (Rivets rusted out on the gas tank skid plate, so that had to be repaired.) (The heat shield above the muffler fell off) (Outside passenger side mirror fell off!!, 102,000) (Radiator, 104,000) (Water pump, 112,000) The brakes have for the most part have always been sub par, and the brake caliper design is terrible! They rust hideously bad, and all 4 had to be replaced at 133,000, along with the usual other brake components, for a cost of $1800! (The first brake job 75,000mi. cost $800) The parking brakes worked fine for the first 75,000mi. But now do nothing no matter how they're adjusted! (Another bad design!) All of this, and the truck only has 134,000 on it now. This is my 5th truck, and by far, the most expensive to maintain! For that reason, I won't be buying another Tundra! Toyota needs to do more homework on how to build full size trucks!

Toyota Quality Unsurpassed

I had a 2000 and 2004 Toyota Tundra previously, and I have always been impressed with how well they were built. This 2008 is no different, i am very happy with it. It definitely have lived up to my expectations.

Tough and strong. Great ride. Easy to work on!

Best truck, not a bunch of frills inside but it's tough and powerful. The 4wd model has terrible gas mileage but otherwise, I wouldn't want any other truck.

Highest millages everyday vehicle I've had .

Regular and proper maintenance on a 5.7L Tundra will easily get it running over 500k miles . Tows 5000 lbs smoothly without any hassle . Can't wait for the diesel Tundras to be on the market.

It?s a Toyota, enough said.

Was in the market for a low mileage 4x4 pickup. Although many other manufacturers caught my eye as I use to be a proud F-150 owner, the Tundra has always been on my radar. Looked at a few and knew that was the truck I needed.
