Best truck on the market.
Love this truck I own a 2008 Tundra and it still runs like a brand new truck. With only 70k on the odometer.

First Foriegn Auto
Always a Ford guy, after several mechanical letdowns from the big blue oval, I decided to turn from my bias ways and give Toyota a shot. Manufactured in Texas (Ford in Mexico), my new to me Tundra has me in shock. After driving a diesel for a little over a year, I HAVE TO GET USED TO THE THROTTLE RESPONSE OF THE IFORCE 5.7!! Good looks and reliability coupled with space shuttle like power and towing is hard to find. Except when you look at the Tundra. Wow. I'm more than thrilled with my choice and looks like I'll be eating now rice. I'm sold. Sorry Ford. Been a good run. You let me down one too many times. Now I'm off to enjoy some saki and sushi. Peace.

Great truck, just keeps on going.
Bought a 2008 SR5 double cab with the 5.7 V8, 2 years ago with 145k miles. I now have 175k miles, overall the truck is still performing well. Engine is very strong, runs like it hasn't missed a beat at 175k. I did put on new brakes and tires. Changing tires made a difference in gas mileage. Went from 13 mpg to 16 mpg, with 50-50 highway and town driving. Will get 20 mpg with longer interstate driving. It does need new blower mower AC&heat. Also needs new volume dial on radio. Other than that this a great truck.

more money then what its worth
I see Toyota has gotten as bad as ford and dodge for reliable vehicles its a shame to because I use to recommend them to everyone now I wont recommend them to my worst enemy. the engine is aluminum so when your hose starts to leak and you don't catch it you get to buy a new engine and there water pump goes bad every 70000 miles there is another 1000 dollars if the dealer does the work if you want to replace your belt make a diagram because they don't put one on the truck because it cost to much money to print it on a piece of paper

Great Truck
I used to be a GM man, but as luck would have it I broke down in front of a Toyota dealer. As I waited for some work to be done to get me on the road one of the salesmen "forced" me around the lot spouting this and that about Toyota so I test drove a Tundra. I liked it immediately. One of the mechanics informed that my vehicle would need to stay so they let me take the Tundra I had just drove home till my car was fixed. I tested it out while I had it and it did nothing but impress me. I purchased a brand new one three weeks later. It's been 5 years since then and aside from new brakes at 72000 miles (no trailer brake, pulling 5000 consistently for work) and regular oil changes I have had no mechanical problems whatsoever with my truck. Now I've had two GM's a Sierra 1500 '97 (totaled at 147000 miles) and a 2500 '95 Suburban (died with 258000 miles) and currently still have a Chevy 1500 Suburban (269000). They all held up well, but none performed as well as the Tundra. The parts are very well built ;as far as mechanical goes, the parts are heavy duty. Which would account for the less than stellar mileage, however, pulling a heavy load regularly I am still averaging around 15 mpg. I really love this truck and I'm going to see what I can squeeze out of it.
