Platinum all the way!

This is the best truck I have ever owned. Although there are a few things that kinda bug me it's not something that diminishes it's value or appeal. I've got the Crew Max Platinum and it has everything I need in a luxury truck. Powerful engine, awesome interior with very nice features. I tow a 12' dual axle trailer and it honestly doesn't feel like I'm towing anything with it. I had '03 Tundra and I could feel every bump with it. I don't think I'll ever go to a different brand. Toyota has made me a life customer.

Bad Puppy

So far I like everything about the truck. I will be towing a 27' camper and I will bet it will not be a problem with the 5.7. It is my first Toyota and full size pickup.

1500 miles on Double Cab TRD

Lots of power, especially low end. Free reving engine and doesn't short shift. Some manufacturers set shift points very low in the automatic transmissions in an apparent attempt to improve mileage. Great fit/finish. Tight truck. So far nothing negative to report. Very happy with decision to go with the Toyota. Wish they offered a Diesel.

Second Tundra

This is my second Tundra my first was a 2009 and in 92,000 miles there were no issues to report (cant't say that for my previous full size Chevy). This one is a 2012 doubel cab and I hope it functions as well. Handles well for a full size pick up. Interior is roomy with lots of storage. Too early to tell on the gas mileage but the 2009 had no trouble getting 18-19mpg on a trip. The glove box seams a little more flimsy than the old model and I'm not sure that I like the divided compartment inside it. The split rear seat is (60/40) is a fanstastic feature as is the under seat storage.

The tundra was great when I bought it

This is an outstanding looking vehicle, and Has a flair no other Japanese cars have. It's the most American and handles hood, tow my boats good. But after a few months I'm getting used to a few things that I shouldn't have to settle for, like the cheap materials inside the cab, the smaller back seat where I can't fit my buddies so they follow in another car. Interior seems outdated, but when I bought it, it seemed good. It just looked so good on the outside I couldn't help myself but to buy it, but I've had to go to the dealer twice for engine issues and didn't check how many recalls the truck has had in the last few years. Overall it gets the job done so I'm happy.

Toyota Tundra

Rented this vehicle for a week prior to purchasing. The exterior styling is so attractive, it draws you to it automatically, however, things went wrong as soon as I drove it. The interior was quirky and felt lower quality than other trucks I drove. There is a hole or gap in several corners where the parts meet ? Thats weird, and when you push on them, they move. The steering wheel had too much play when I drove, and the controls were a little difficult to figure out. It drove to firm over the Michigan pot holes, and the 4X4 doesnt turn even 3 of the wheels, just a fron and a rear ? Weird ? Lots of room inside, lots of storage, except this rattling sound in the glove box which was empty and it still rattled? Anyway, I liked how it looked, liked the pick up on the road, and it probably is good for california bumpin around in traffic, but for a real truck, pulling deer out of the woods etc, I think there are much better trucks out there at a lower cost

Great Truck!!

Great truck! Double cab has just the right space to throw stuff in. Ride is truck-like but not bad! Haven't had any noticeable problems on highway with an empty bed like expert reviews have stated! MPG sucks but what do you expect! It's a V8 4x4 full size P/U! That's the trade-off! If u want better mpg, get a Prius or Fit!

3rd Tundra

This is my 3rd Tundra since 2002. Before this I was a committed chevy guy when it came to cars and trucks. With that said I have to say that the Tundra line of trucks have been rock solid dependable and a very comfortable to drive. My current Tundra is a 2012 Rock Warrior Dbl cab with the 5.7. Here are some of my driving observations and impressions. A) The 5.7 is a very strong engine. The acceleration is on par with the 5.7 hemi Ram 1500 I drove while in Alaska last summer. Under normal driving the engine sound is unobtrusive but if you need to get on it this motor definitely lets you know it's a V8. B) The VSC and ATRAC work very well in poor tractions situations such as snow. But with that said I found the VSC a bit too responsive in a situation on the interstate that almost resulted in a tractor trailer rig rear ending me. C) The instrument cluster needs work. The ergonomics were not very well thought out. I find myself having to look around the steering wheel in order to see all the instruments. D) Gas mileage is what I expected but could be better, especially on the interstate. I had no problem getting 20-21 mpg out of the Ram 1500 in Alaska and it has the same displacement motor. The best I have gotten so far with this Tundra was 17.5mpg on a trip from WV to NC and I am not a lead foot by any means. E) Ride comfort is better than what I expected from a truck with a off road tuned suspension, especially on the interstate. It's not quite as smooth as my last Tundra, a TRD 2006 dbl cab, but it does not feel harsh either. F) Interior comfort is better than my last truck. I find the drivers seat much firmer and supportive. Interior noise level is also quite quite with a minimum of wind, engine, and tire noise coming into the cabin E) For a 4WD truck Toyota needs to move the trailer lights hitch receptacle from underneath the bumper to a in-bumper arrangement such as the newer GM and Ram trucks. I ended up tearing the original off while doing some work with the WVDNR in one of their WMA's. It was a easy enough plug-in replacement but at $225.00 this could easily turn into a costly repeat situation for those that regularly use their TRD's in off road situations. Overall I am quite pleased with this vehicle so far. Hopefully this will be just as dependable mechanically as my other Toyota's have been in the past. Best part though is this "foreign" truck is actually more American made than the Big 3.
