  • Awesome tank.

I own a 2016 VW Touareg and the experience has been great. I is luxurious inside and very classy outside. No aggressive lines and is very sturdy. Closing the front doors feels solid like closing a refrigerator. It is expensive to maintain and is very good for long trips because it holds a lot of gasoline in its tank. Even we need it in snowy conditions like in Colorado it has excellent traction and could send the whole engine power to one wheel if need it.

  • Tourage best used SUV in the UNITED STATES PERIOD!

Bought my 2016 Touareg Executive in 2018 with 62,000 miles on it for $19,500. Currently today sitting with 135k. 73,000 miles with almost zero hiccups. Had the windshield replaced last year by Safelite Auto glass and they screwed up the calibration on the windshield camera. But that was all covered by them. It would have been $3500 for a camera and OEM windshield, and the calibration. The other thing that is really disappointing is the LED strip on the head lights went bad on both sides and the head lights are about $650 each. It’s $1200 a head light installed. But besides that we have had zero issues. The ride is great, the interior and exterior design is timeless this SUV will look great in 20 years. The build quality is top notch. Everything you expect from a Germany luxury vehicle. I feel safe in the 6000lb car. It tows my 21 foot boat that weighs 5500lb with little trouble. The best vehicle I have ever owned. Tahoe, Yukon have nothing on this SUV. The V6 gas engine with the 8 speed automatic is a bulletproof combo. That’s why they use this transmission in Porsche, Bentley, and Audi. I choose this over the Q7. Which is the same exact platform. People are always shocked by how nice the tourage is. Very sad they stopped selling it here in the states. Now VW is selling us a subpar Atlas, in my opinion isn’t even in the same league as the tourage.

  • King of the road!

This is my second one. Vw bought back my 09 TDI for a crazy high price. Bought this in dec 17 when the fix was approved. Sharp handling and gobs of tourqey power make it a blast to drive. Sumptuous interior makes me miss my last car, Mercedes e320cdi, very little. Original Pirelli tires were awful! On michelin defender ltx now, much better.

  • The TDI engine is great

Bought the car new and now have 37,000 miles. So far I put on new front brake pads at 36,000 miles and rears still have 40% left. I do not tow anything with the car. Put on new tires at 32000 miles. Car is going to need a new battery soon. Car handles great in stop and go traffic. I get 23 in the city/hwy and on road trips I will get 28MPG @80 MPH on flat areas, and 26.5 on mountain interstates. Car is comfortable for 4 adults with great cargo space. TDI engine is great and ith will use 1/2 a quart of oil between oil changes. These engines are good for 200,000-300,000 miles. The only Diesel engine that is better is the Mercedes Benz. SUV handles great in the snow with Blizzacks on the car. Plenty of traction and handles very well in winter driving areas. This is my second TDI, first one was bought out by VW during buy backs.

  • Most reliable & repair free car I have ever owned

This 6000 LB (3 Ton) SUV (gross weight) is a "Horse" with 407 foot pounds of torque that has the ability to haul up to 7500 pounds with its factory trailer hitch. This Turbo Diesel SUV has off-road capability with its hi and low range transmission.

  • So far so good.

Had the car for two weeks. Handles like a dream, and has plenty of power. Lots of functional technology. Interior is very nice, every bit the equal of my old Lexus RX330.

  • Great ride!!

I purchased this vehicle brand new online 6 states away, flew there and drove it back home, I have 2 200 miles on it, so far, it is a real pleasure to drive, acceleration is very good, torque is amazing, gas mileage up in the 30's on hwy, or better depending on driving, 740 miles on one tank easy. It is a very smooth and quiet ride, the soundproofing is very good, cool factor is that you dont see too many on the road, it feels like it is glued on the pavement, corners like a dream for 2 tons +, truly, what a car! Now for potential buyers understand that you are purchasing an older vehicle, check windshields with fingernails for scratches from storage, I guess (had to replace mine $800) before buying as it will not be covered by warranty. The parts have to be ordered , often from Germany, because it is a somewhat rare car, to consider if you break down have to wait for parts and only have 1 car. Other problem I've encountered is dealership lack of knowledge about the Touareg at least at VW Milwaukee North, where they wont honor the factory warranty I was told it was expired! Make sure to use your vin # when ordering parts . I have no regrets so far, just a few minor glitches to take care of but way worth it, I hope I'll get years and miles of enjoyment.

  • The best car I ever had

I had the previous model. I loved it soo much soo i made a decision after I tested about 12 different SUV and pick up trucks to go back to VW. First the turbocharged disel engine is amazing. Very powerful and great with fuel economy. Big tank /25 gallons. Overall I get 22 miles per gallon city and 30 highway. Very comfortable ride. I am 6.4,300 pounds. Plenty of leg room, front and back. Heating and cooling seating is awesome. The car has all the safety equipment. I can’t say one bad thing about this car. I just wish i had the apple carplay.

  • Best equipped car I have owned.

We exchanged a Golf Sportwagon Diesel because of the emission scandal, and after test driving a basic Touareg we chose a blue one for the colour, and then found that it was an R-Line model, with all the bells and whistles. It has proved to be a good choice as it is the most comfortable car I have owned, and I have had 10 vehicles before this. It is powerful and responsive and holds the road well. It feels safe and is a joy to drive. Now for the downside. I have found it difficult to judge the width of the car, and have scraped the wheel trims along the curb until I placed a marker on the dash, at the bottom of the windshield to show where the curb should be. My main criticism of Volkswagen, however, is that the car came with a GPS that was already out of date and did not show developments in the city that had been built for over a year. When I told the dealership I was informed that upgrades to the GPS were only available after TWO years, and would cost me $200 to install. I have bought a TomTom for that amount, which comes with FREE upgrades every 6 months, for life!. To offer that kind of a service on a $70,000 vehicle is a disgrace. The upsides are the adaptive cruise control is very impressive, and a valuable safety feature. It failed once and it took the Service Department two days to re-align the radar detectors, but it has worked perfectly ever since. The climate control is excellent, with heated mirrors that clear themselves of rain and snow, and fold in when the car is locked, useful as the car is quite wide. Heated front and rear seats are a bonus, as well as the fully electric front seat adjustment. It is capable of towing up to 7,700 pounds, and tows our Tent Trailer with ease. It is thirsty, but with a 100 litre tank I can still get 800 Km from a full tank. Overall, if you want a luxury car that does not look ostentatious or stands out in a crowd then I would recommend this vehicle for consideration.
