  • Volvo for Life

Bought our first XC70, a 2006 AWD with 185,000 miles. Now with 265,000, only routine maintenance and rear axle control unit repair. Got our second XC70, a 2016 FWD with with 180,000. Now has 203,000, and we pull a 3300# camping trailer with it. Again only routine maintenance. Neither of these cars burns any synthetic engine oil between 5,000 mile changes. I also drain and refill the transmission sump at the same time. I fully expect these cars to last to 300,000 and beyond. These cars are a perfect combination of safety, comfort, durability, style and power. After going airborne and inverted at 55 in an 82 240 wagon--the victims of an idiot--we were delighted to have survived with only whiplash injuries. The roof stayed right there. Equally delighted and impressed that the president of Volvo called the house thanking me for my letter and photos of the aftermath. He explained why they use the steel they do in roof frames. We've driven only Volvos since 1984, and will never drive anything else. We have five in our family.

  • Greatest XC70 I've owned

Started with my first XC70 in 1999 and bought 5 more XC70 models (all with the 5cyl engine), ending with the last three being 2016 models. 2016 being the best and the most trouble free model year yet! Love not crawling under the car anymore to do an oil change! Use a suction system used for boat motors and with the oil filter sitting in the engine compartment, it's a snap. 5K for oil changes and 20K for transmission fluid changes and it will last to 300K hopefully

  • 2nd XC70

Our second XC70, this one the Platinum version, to pair with our 2013 Preferred Plus version. Excellent cars. Very comfortable and rock solid. No issues with either one. Have 137,000 miles on our 2013 and it's running beautifully. Expecting similar from our 2016.

  • Engine failure at 118,000 miles

Purchased a vovlo 2016 xc70 with 5,800 miles from Montrose Volvo in west Cleveland. Car performed well until at 118,000 the engine blew. Apparently, it was burning oil, oil light never came on. As a result a hole blew out the side wall in one of the five cylinders. This caused the engine to fail immediately. Volvo told me it was a $10,000 repair and/or $10,000 to purchase a new engine. Vovlo gave me $4,000 for the xc70 whose trade in value if working was $14,000. Needless to say, I purchased a used 2019 Toyota 4Runner and took the $4k from vovlo. Planning on driving my paid for Volvo another 3 years minimum, with a $10k loss on the car and 3 years of added car payments, this business partnership was a $25,000 loser. Having driven Toyotas and Hondas, for years, many well above 200,000 miles, it was a shock that a $40,000 “luxury” vehicle failed so early in its life. Vovlo had no interest in taking any responsibility for the catastrophic failure. I have no interest in purchasing a vovlo again. Good Luck to the rest of you driving xc70’s, check the oil level frequently.

  • The 2016 XC70 T5 PLATINUM is my 9th Volvo with 23k

Nice car. Low battery notice appears on monitor screen 24/7 even though dealership has replace the battery twice. however the car has never not started due to a drained battery or low volt issue. replaced the driver door window/locks/mirror motor box @ 23k miles for $500...Replacing heated windshield, $1500 which includes $450 to recalibrate this that and the other...

  • Volvos- safety and entry luxury

Excellent front seat ergonomics (roominess, seat adjustments, controls, etc.) Back seats are cramped for anyone over 5' 6". Good cargo space with back seats folded down. Great acceleration and braking.

Great driving car, very reliable over its first 40,000 miles since 2015. Only wish that Volvo still made the XC70. No major repairs or problems to date.

  • Love Volvo

Vehicle arrived as described. 2016 was the last year this style was produced, I couldn't pass it up. I currently own 3 different Volvo models and this XC70 is my favorite. I have owned Volvo's for over 30 years, and will continue.

  • Best car ever in our lives!

First we got the best car we have ever had. I am 64, & my wife is 78...so that is saying something! But then to only need a service once a year compared to the old days of every 4-6 months is really awesome! But then to have been able to but this 2016 Volvo XC-70 at 0% interest, and all these services are free is something that is truly extraordinary. It has felt like we won the lottery with every aspect of the Volvo, Secor sales, & service dealership. Everyone had been kind, very friendly, knowledgeable, and well trained in terms of customer service. The cherry on top of everything I have already said is that you also washed & vacuumed the car with every one of our services! WOW!!! We have told and shown our car to many hundreds of our friends & family—letting them know how wonderful this Volvo & Secor dealership experience has been! Thank you so much! We will never buy any other car brand or dealership for the rest of our lives!

  • Just love everything about this car

When we heard that Volvo was ending this model we decided that we wanted to acquire one. We'd been fortunate enough to have been driving Volvos AWD wagons since 2001; this being our third xc70. There's just no other brand we've owned previously or additionally that has been as solidly built, dependable, comfortable, versatile and plain enjoyable as these cars. Our 2001 is still a daily driver with just under 198k miles.
