I have been driving toyota for 30 years.
I have been driving toyota for 30 years. I have been a customer at toyota hackensack for the past 25 years. This past experience has been the worst I have ever received. On saturday I took my rav 4 for service and they told me I needed brakes and some work under the hood, I agreed to do them and they were about $980. I went to pick up the vehicle and when I got home I tried to pop the hood and ensure that everything was okay but the hood did not open. I called them 4 times and left them messages they never picked up or got back to me. I was completely ignored by the service rep. On thursday I took my other vehicle for service for oil change and tire rotation. When I picked it up they told me I needed brakes and that they were yellow. I asked to look at the brakes but they told me it was too late and to just go pay at the cashier. I was a bit frustrated with this but decided that if they said it was yellow it could not have been that bad. When I drove my car home my tires were shaking and I was freaking out. I took it to mavis to double check the brakes and they told me I needed a brakes change IMMEDIATELY, and that I was running a dangerous risk with how wasted they were. They showed me the brakes and they were close to finished! I called toyota back because I wanted answers. I spoke to a manager and told her of my poor service and how angry I was with the risk that I was put in. The manager was very unsympathetic to my situation and did not offer any real solutions. I told her was not going to go back again and all she did was offer to delete my name from the database. Seemed like he did not care about the poor customer service that her team provided or about losing a loyal customer. I don't think I will ever return to this toyota again.

Thank you for your feedback. We do not feel that aspects of your review are factual, but more importantly it leaves out key details on your visit to service. The recommended work during your visit was as follows: 1) Belt Crack 2) Valve Cover Gasket 3) Front Pads Rotor Shims/2 Calipers L/F Seized 4) Engine Light On You declined to have this work done here. The brakes at the time of your visit were in the yellow and were measured by one of our technicians. We have documentation detailing the status of your brakes and it was provided to you as you left. What exactly did Mavis "show" you and how was the determination made that you needed brakes pads? As far as your vehicle shaking, you were advised that not addressing the frozen caliper in front left could result in compromising the drivability of the vehicle. Again, you declined to have this work done during your visit.
