1st time buyer
As a first time buyer I didn?t know what to expect, but Jose Lopez made the process less stressful. He was very knowledgeable about the vehicle and addressed all my questions and concerns. His bilingual skills are excellent and came in handy with my dad, because of course I needed his input. When the time came to sign the finance manager seemed to be in a hurry and explained everything in one breath. That was the only time I felt rushed. I was there longer than I anticipated, but overall I am happy with my purchase.

1st-Time Buyer; Mostly Good Experience
As a first-time car buyer, I was happy to get connected with Jose Lopez, who communicated with my via text before I came to Salem from out of town to test drive a 2018 Kia Rio. Upon arriving, Jose was very friendly and open to my partner and I. He was knowledgeable about the vehicle and Kia as a whole. Once we decided to take the next step, it became clear that Jose's role would be to convey our willingness to buy at certain price points. At other dealerships, a sales manager would actually come back out with the salesperson to speak with us, but this didn't happen in Salem; Jose would just say what his manager told him. They lowered the price somewhat (though still higher than the 'fair' price range given online), which allowed me to feel comfortable going through with the purchase. Jose was a big part of me pulling the trigger on the purchase. Thanks, Jose! Unfortunately, the rest of the buying process was poor. We were taken into a finance manager's office and given the hard sell on virtually everything. Basically, the vibe was "if you don't buy this, you're going to get into a car wreck and I can't help you then." Please, guys. A very frustrating end to an otherwise good experience. That said, I am now a proud Kia owner and very happy with the car thus far!

Fine, but it could have been so much better
There simply has to be a better way to buy a car. We went to Power because we've had excellent service experiences with another Kia we purchased out of state. But the sales experience, while positive, could still really be improved. Dave was a sweet guy, helpful, friendly, never condescending, never pushy. But the days of bartering for a car need to end. Just tell me a fair price and let's be done with it. The 'I'll have to talk with my manager' crap needs to end. NOW. I would recommend the dealership for service, but until they end this arcane practice I won't recommend them for sales.

Buying a Sorento
David Miller provided us with excellent information without pressuring us. He was courteous and helpful throughout the process. The selection of Kia Sorentos to choose from was quite broad. We test drove three vehicles and choose one that was just right for our needs. The management team made the buying process (paperwork) fair easy given all that is involved.

Finance department is very shady
We dealt with a very nice not pushy saleswoman. Rebecca B. We found a descent deal. With the financial department was the issue. We specifically stated we wanted to use our Credit Union for a better rate. They informed us this would not be a problem. “We can sign the paperwork and they would work with our banking. I had everything ready for them in less than 14hrs. We were told it was to late. The loan had been submitted and gone through their financial institution. So I verified with the financial institution the loan was written through and it had not even been assigned to a loan officer. Financial person was Zack. They were looking to pad there pockets for a one time deal. I will not be a repeat customer.

They push people into buying cars that are junk and sold at a high price... would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.... very friendly only to make you get something they want to sell you not what you want to buy...

Horrible service department
This is specifically a review of the "service" department... I got my first Kia (Optima) here and loved it in the beginning! The service was great for routine oil changes but the problems started when I had a real issue come up with the car. In January of this year my car slid during the ice storm and had damage to the front wheel. When the tow truck driver asked me where I wanted it towed I didn't even think twice about taking it back to Kia. Steve and Jason where always helpful and started the process of working with the insurance company to get the car fixed. Weeks go by before I finally got my car back only to discover that it was pulling really bad to the right and they were trying to pass it off as normal. I finally got them to work with the insurance again to authorize a repair of their work and I will never forget what Steve said to me.... He said "we are not a full service body shop, you shouldn't have brought it to us". I was speechless.... Never did they tell me that they didn't have the tools or experience to do the job, it was only after the fact that they said that! The thought never even crossed my mind, who better to repair my new Kia than Kia?! I could not believe that a month and a xxxxty repair later they would be telling me that I should have taken it elsewhere!!! I got my car fixed by a third party but it was damage was already done by Kia and as a result I still to this day have issues with the alignment with that wheel. Needless to stay I didn't set foot in Kia for the next 8 months. I got new tires and all my oil changes elsewhere now. But when a headlight burned out I remembered that I had Kia pre-owned warranty on the car. I took in the car on Friday 11/03/2017 but Jason told me that the HID tech was off shift and I should come back on Monday. I asked him about a warranty replacement and he made it seem as if it wasn't a problem. So I come back on Monday 11/06/2017 drop off my car with Steve when he tells me that it isn't covered by the warranty because it expired at 60k and my car was now at 69k. I asked if there was any kind of grace period or anything but no luck. Okay fine I still need a new HID bulb and he tells me it's $250 for the bulb! (Plus $10 or $40 dollars labor depending on which tech you ask) I ask him why it's so much and he said it was because of the HID bulb. I wasn't happy but again I needed a headlight so I left the car with Steve and got a ride home. 5 mins after getting home I search online and discover that the same bulb can purchased for $75!! I call Steve right back and ask him why it's so much of a difference and he gives me some line about a 12 month warranty....I could purchase three bulbs for the same price, why would I want a 12 month warranty?! I come to find out the service has been completed and I'm screwed yet again. I will never step foot in Kia for a non warranty issue ever again and this whole experience makes me want to trade in my Kia Optima and be done with them forever!
