2012 Corolla from First Team in Chesapeake, VA

We were searching for a used Camry with low mileage, but unable to find one at this time. What I can say are great things about First Team in Chesapeake, VA. We bought our 2012 Corolla used from them and had a great experience. Nice facility and great staff. The sales rep even knocked $300 off the sticker price even without us asking him to. We have been totally satisfied with the Corolla and hope we can find a used Camry just as good.

buying my car

I went in to buy my car. I had already seen the car that I wanted on line. My salesman was named Clarence Johnson, He was very helpful and knowledgeable about the car. He was very professional . I have already referred many of my family and friends to him. He is a great asset to the company. Now after I got the car and had to go back for my first oil change it was terrible. The customer service form the service department I would rate as less the 0. When I walked in no one said Good Morning, may I help you or anything . I had to find someone to help me and then when my car was finished I had to go in the bay and drive my car out myself. I think that the employees that work in the service department need a refresher course in customer service 101.

Bought a 2015 Toyota 4Runner SR5

I bought the 4Runner from them while I was transitioning from overseas. They met my specific requests (i.e., color, type, model, etc.) with no hassle and at no time did they attempt to sway my decision, but instead insisted they would find the exact match...They did!

Liars are us

My title should be their names. We went there wanting to buy a truck and when we went to this dealership they did not have the truck we wanted. They begged and pleaded for us to sign a contract on a truck that wasn't even there yet. When the truck finally did arrive, they wanted us to put a deposit on the truck to "hold" it. We were told that the check would not be deposited. We found a better deal and bought a truck elsewhere (you go, Charlie!!). Needless to say ,the dealership was mad and deposited the check anyway. I am glad I did not trust my years of Toyota ownership to these lying people.

Disappointed

I entered this dealership with the intention of buying a used Ford F-150. The dealer was very nice but was supposed to follow up with me on a Ford F-150 Lariat that just came in. After shopping around my husband and I were pretty much sold on the one on their lot. I finally had to follow up with them because I never heard back and in the process of texting the guy that we were dealing with I caught him in a lie. As of right now he has still left me hanging. This would have been an easy sell for them because we already had our minds made up but at the end of the day, we feel that they don't want our business. We have continued our search and decided to rule out anything from First Team.

Chris was great! He made this stressful car-buying...

Chris was great! He made this stressful car-buying experience a delight. He was busy with other customers when I arrived on the lot, but that did not prevent him from greeting me and finding out what my needs were. I felt he made each customer he was working with feel significant and special. Not to mention it was less than forty-five minutes before closing time when I arrived, never once did he rush me or appear to be impatient or frustrated with my indecisiveness. I was not satisfied with the first couple of vehicles I test drove, and Chris encouraged me to continue to shop beyond dealership hours. I, indeed, found the car for me and am completely satisfied with my like-new 2011 Camry with very low mileage might I add. I'd visited several other dealerships before arriving to First Team Toyota that will remain nameless. The only reason I did not purchase from one of those dealerships was due to poor customer service. Chris Demaar knows customer service. Being a REALTOR and knowing much about customer service myself, I absolutely appreciated the service he provided to me and that I witnessed him provide to others, his product knowledge and tasteful sense of humor. I would gladly refer him to family, friends and strangers. Thanks, Chris. Keep up the good work!

Salesperson was prompt and very personable

My wife and I had a 1 pm appointment at First Team Toyota. The salesperson Scott Gallagher, was in front of dealership waiting for us. He was very personable and not high pressure(which I appreciated). The car was made ready for test drive and afterward we began discussion on availability and price. The negotiation on price went very smoothly since we had been quoted at price from web site sales representative. We agreed on a price and closed the deal. I sent my wife home with our current car(no trade in) and I waited for Toyota Corolla 2013 to be serviced for me to drive home. All financial aspects of sale went smoothly( since no trade in and paying cash) I was very satisfied that I was able to purchase a new car and drive it home in around 4 hours.

My little MINI

My wife and I just purchased a used MINI Cooper from First Team and worked with Chris Demaar who made a sometimes confusing and contentious process easy and amicable. He was very personable, knowledgeable and expedited the process so we were in and out in a little over an hour. I would highly recommend this dealership and Chris and the rest of the team to anyone in the market for a new or used car.
