Repair of multi function switch

Issue with turn signal - pull down on left signal and sometimes it worked and sometimes the right blinker would come on. Sometimes it worked fine for a month and same issue. Lithuania could not make problem replicate why I took it in for repair. We decided to change multi function switch. Last night, I took the old switch apart and found out the problem was in the intermittent windshield wiper switch - excess solder and could make contact with blinker function. Dodge seems to have a lot of bad multifunction switches based on internet research. Lithuania was upfront, honest, and frank with our discussions.. not sure where part is manufactured but Dodge should investigate. $215.00 for repair is well worth the expense.

Service Department Review, Lithia Jeep of Eugene

I brought my 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee in for service for a Throttle Control Warning Light issue. We were in Eugene for the Christmas holiday, were preparing for the long drive back to Seattle and wanted to remove the underlying Warning Light issue before we headed north on the long, rainy drive. iI talked on the phone with Tim Bohn, Lithia Service Advisor, went over the issue with him and he recommended that I bring the Jeep in for analysis of the problem and service as required. Tim was excellent to work with, asked a number of relevant questions to help pin down the problem and was very helpful in our discussion. I brought the Jeep in within an hour of my call and talked with David Franklin, Lithia Service Advisor, who checked the Jeep in for service. David was excellent to work with, asked a series of relevant questions to help pin down the possible problem and was helpful in getting my bearings in the unfamiliar dealership. Within a couple of hours I received a followup call from Tim Bohn advising me about the Throttle Control Warning Light, how the problem evolved and how to prevent it in the future. I appreciate the quick service, attention to detail and thorough followup. My experience with the Service Department Team was excellent.

Attempting to Defraud the Customer

I received a recall notice in the mail and I called Lithia to schedule an oil change as well as to clear the open recalls on the truck. Wednesday 11/28, during working hours, I contacted Lithia Dodge to arrange a shuttle pick up when the vehicle was ready, (no one ever called). So once I got off work, I called again and was transferred to the shuttle driver and he came to pick me up. I arrived at the store around 4:15pm in the afternoon to pick the truck up and was provided the key and a report of the work completed, which included an oil change, vehicle inspection, a computer update, a tailgate bump stop to clear a recall and a replacement of the water pump. Once I got home, my husband went out to check the work completed. My husband discovered the usual issues with the oil change. The oil life was not reset, the front drive line was not greased and the undercarriage was not washed. He also noticed that there is a large scratch in the driver side passenger door that wasn’t there the day before, complete with the dust moved. Along with an alarming find. The water pump was not replaced. We checked the paperwork received, and I remember being assured that the water pump was replaced. He looked up the recall online, found the part numbers and manufacture subject to the recall, they all matched the part in our driveway. The water pump was rusted and the bolts had the factory overspray on them. After spending nearly an hour in the driveway at 8pm trying to figure out what we were missing. We decided that in fact we had been lied to. My husband took time-stamped photos, along with the time stamped invoice. On Thursday 11/29 my husband contacted Lithia’s service department and spoke with Joel, who as expected didn’t believe his story but wanted the truck brought back in for review. My husband advised Joel that I would be bringing the truck in on Friday 11/30 at 3:45pm. On Friday 11/30, I bring the truck across town again for review, I arrived at 3:45pm and I’m told that I won’t be speaking with Joel, another service adviser will be dealing with “my situation”. I’m not sure that they realize that this is THEIR situation. (This entire encounter is recorded also). With this being our first non-oil related experience with the service department, we no longer have any trust left. When the service advisor called me back up they verified that the water pump wasn’t replaced and I could bring it back whenever I wanted to and they would complete it. On Saturday 12/1 I made a third trip across town and dropped the truck off at 10:30am. With the inconvenience of this third trip to we had to make multiple back and forth trips in both of our personal vehicles. My husband had to pick me up at Lithia, I had to drop him at work, then pick him up and bring him back to Lithia when the truck was ready. I had asked for a loaner vehicle and none of the service advisors I worked with ever acknowledged my request on this third day that I spent with them. When we arrived to pick up the truck, we were assured that the truck was complete and we were provided our key. When I asked where the truck was, no one seemed to have an answer. We walked the entire lot, finally finding it in the far NW corner, behind sales, two spots from the edge. It would have been nice if they felt the need to bring it up or at least tell us where it was. Monday 12/3, I have driven the vehicle to West Eugene town again to a detail shop to have the scratch in the door addressed. Tuesday, 12/4, I had to take the vehicle back yet again because the tailgate wouldn’t lock after they added the bump stop to clear the recall. In addition to this I received a low coolant warning (which should have been filled during the oil change a week prior)
