Very nice, not quite there in high-end service.
Service staff are always very polite, and make things as convenient as feasible for us, who live an hour and a half away. Unfortunately, when we get the car back (a top-of-the-line XTS Platinum V-Sport), there is sometimes something else wrong. Once they rotated the tires but forgot to reset the inflation sensors to the proper wheels. Another time, the dash panel trim was not reattached to the main panel (leaving a noticeable gap visible when opening the front passenger door). Most recently, a substance had apparently been allowed to run down the windshield, which hardened into an almost unremovable material on the passenger side. (It's possible that the material was there before they picked up the car, but we don't think so. It was not tree sap, but a transparent, rock-hard substance in a pattern of rivulets, as if it had been sprayed on by accident, run down the windshield, then hardened.) Finally, the car always comes back to us with slightly low tires for some reason. Our tires are supposed to be kept at 36 PSI cold, but come back at about 35 PSI hot (after being driven for some time for delivery). This translates to 32-34 PSI cold. The dealership (Covert, in Austin, TX) has not been able to find solutions to a couple of apparent flaws in the car (not your fault, to be fair; no one has succeeded and the problems only occur away from the dealership). One is a problem with engine missing (with a P-300 check-engine light that has come on twice) when driving in high-altitude cities. The car idles roughly, but the problem has (so far) gone away in a couple of days. The other is a mysterious sudden loss of adaptive cruise control which has happened several times and may be associated with some sort of radar or cell tower interference. (It particularly happens -- three times -- when I'm in a certain area on a lonely highway in northeastern New Mexico.) Once again, Covert has generally been very polite and available, and always offers to examine the problem, but it is very inconvenient to either bring the car in from Horseshoe Bay or have a valet driver exchange it for a few days. I use the car for long-distance business, sometimes on short notice, and, like many people, keep the things I need packed in it. Thanks.
