Beware, W.I. Simonson in Santa Monica uses Penzoil

This is a review on a Service A on my Mercedes Benz C300 at W.I. Simonson, a Mercedes Benz dealership in Santa Monica, CA on 8/9/2023. My appointment was at 10:30am and no problem taking my car in. They finished it in the same day for basic Service A (simple oil change). However, there are 3 areas that concern me and I sent an email to the dealer but have not heard back for the answers. 1. I stopped by at 10:30am as scheduled and my service advisor (Jose) told me that it should be done around 2-2:30pm same day. So I decided to wait at the service lobby. There was no call/text or anybody came to let me know that the car was ready. At about 2:40pm I decided to check with the cashier and she said the car was ready for a while. 2. Having my car service at any MB dealership, I expected to have a genuine parts including the oil. I was surprised that WI Simonson chose to use motor oil from Pennzoil instead of Mercedes brand. 3. I just found out after I got home that the two custom Tire Valve Stem Caps were missing. I wish your technician paid more attention to do his job on a first class dealership like WI Simonson. The caps have a MB logo. My previous dealerships in Van Nuys and Glendale, CA both use a genuine Mercedes oil/filter. The Sales Manager got back to me and he said he does not believe Mercedes has their own oil and ask the service manager to verify but no responses from the service people. I don't care even if the Penzoil is an approved oil for Mercedes but when you have your car service at an authorized Mercedes dealer, you expect to have a genuine MB brand.

I purchased a 2019 MB E 300 on June 27, 29 2023 and wired

I purchased a 2019 MB E 300 on June 27, 29 2023 and wired full payment to the WI Simonson dealership in Santa Monica, California. I arranged for the vehicle to be shipped to Kentucky and received it on July 3, 2023. The car has been sitting in my driveway since that day as I am without a title to the vehicle and the dealership will not send the title to me. I have called the dealership many times, only to be told that the delay is caused by the California Department of Motor Vehicles. After each call to the dealership, I call the California Department of Motor Vehicles and I provide the VIN to the vehicle and they perform a status inquiry on the title transfer--and each time I discover that the dealership has NOT EVEN STARTED THE TITLE TRANSFER APPLICATION PROCESS. Since June 27, 2023, the dealership has yet to submit an application for the title transfer, despite the fact the dealership continues to cast blame on the California DMV. I have called and left numerous messages for Gabriella, the DMV Clerk at the dealership, and have yet to receive a follow-up call that the application for the title has been completed. This vehicle was a gift to my son so that he would have reliable transportation to college. Without a title, the car has remained parked and is of no use. The Dealership's delay, false statements that the DMV is to blame, and their continued lack of regard that the vehicle is sitting parked in my driveway goes against everything that Mercedes Benz stands for. I have a MB CLS 550, a MB GL 550, and MB G 63 and have driven MB for years. This experience has changed all of that and I will NEVER purchase another Mercedes Benz as a result of WI Simonson's customer service. If you are an out of state buyer, BE AWARE OF MY EXPERIENCE WITH WI SIMONSON. It was a headache and a terrible experience for me.

I don’t have my new car.

I don’t have my new car. Was supposed to be delivered at 12:00. It’s now 4:00. Said they’d bring it tonight. I’ll be surprised if it happens. Not feeling very confident. My car was delivered last night. Lina was very nice and professional. My car was very clean and beautiful! Thank you Lina.

I bought a 2020 Mercedes GLE 350 certified pre-owned with

I bought a 2020 Mercedes GLE 350 certified pre-owned with 10,000 miles. The car was missing the CPO sticker. I had to arrange for shipping outside of the dealership. The car was delivered missing the cargo cover. It took three weeks to get the right one. The car came DIRTY, with pet hair, fingerprint smudges all over, scratches in the cargo area and stained mousepad. The worst part is it has been more than a month and I do not have the title to the car despite the fact that I paid cash for it. I cannot register it nor insure it. I called to speak to the general manager and I have yet to hear from him. Dealing with this outfit is like dealing with a cut-rate establishment. The salesman was good.but their business model leaves a lot to be desired.
