We were taken to the cleaners by Auto Nerd. We are seniors who cannot afford to lose money, and we were fleeced. We came in with a used Civic in very good condition, lost thousands in a terrible transaction and were left without a car. We bought a 2006 Honda Ridgeline truck from Auto Nerd for a total of more than $7400, only to find, when we took it to be brought up to safe, useful standards, that it would cost more than the price of the truck to do that. Between an oil pump, digital dash display, power steering, a half shaft, and other items, it totaled more than $9800. Worse still, we were advised by Honda technicians not to spend any of that, because the truck had significant rust in the rear frame and suspension that compromised its use as a truck. Our intention was to pull a small camping trailer. No way possible. We brought the truck back, demanding that Auto Nerd buy it back. They would only pay $4500. Worse, though we had originally decided not to trade our very good Honda Civic because we could get more selling it ourselves, we were rushed into a deal to sell it to Auto Nerd when we bought the truck because they had a buyer on the lot, and immediately offered us a few hundred more than the ridiculous offer they first made. Before we knew what was really happening, we had given up our car for far less than its value, a difference that Auto Nerd turned to their profit while we were still in the office. In the end, we were down $2900 for the truck, out the difference for the actual worth of our car, and needing to buy another car elsewhere so that my wife could get to work. They were unmoved. Between the truck and our car they made thousands in the space of about an hour, while we were left having to dig deep into our small savings, unable to realize our dream of buying a trailer for camping trips. Do not deal with these people. Do not be fooled by seeing family pictures. Stay away.

Buyer Beware
I purchased a 2012 Hyundai Equus and paid over $18,000. Should have my head checked! Mileage showed 32,256. I was told the car had a Powertrain warranty due to under 10 years and under 100,000 miles. Should have known better! Problems immediately started with the tires. Tires could not be repaired because they were so bad. Wires were showing. This was the first sign of deceipt. After a couple months, I took the vehicle to a local Hyundai dealership only to learn that there is underbody damage and, get this...the odometer has been rolled back. There is no Powertrain warranty because the car has well over 100,000 miles. What the heck? I have only spoken to one person at the dealership but so far he is not trying to do anything to help the situation. I contacted the lienholder who has been deceived as well and they reached out to AutoNerd and got no response. Not sure what to do next but hopefully the dealership will contact me and try to come to a resolution. You have my number. If anyone reading this review has any suggestions I would really appreciate!

Truck
I drove my truck to their lot without incident. When I arrived there they took my keys to evaluate my truck. I looked at a car there that had been misrepresented online. The center console had been “stolen” the night before. The engine had an undisclosed noise, and the car’s paint was misrepresented as to the photos online. When I went to leave, the brakes on my truck had magically stopped working. I don’t know if they messed with it or what but it was fine when I arrived. I ended up trading it for a car I didn’t want just so I could get the xxxx out of that awful place. It was awful. Really REALLY shady.

We dodged a bullet
I traded in my higher valued car for a cheaper car through Auto Nerds in Beech Grove. The salesman agreed they would pay off the remainder of my loan and I would get a car off of their lot in addition to walking away with some money left over in the form of a check. Within one day the check engine light came on. I replaced the part needed, no big deal. Four days after making the trade, I get a call from one of their financiers stating they made a mistake. The salesman I initially dealt with should not have agreed to the terms of the trade and they would not release the title to the car I took home until I either brought in or financed the remaining loan amount on my original car. I told him that was not what was originally agreed upon and I neither had that kind of money nor was willing to take out another loan to cover it. The financier stated that I either had to come up with the money or return the car I took home and the check they gave me and they would return my original car to me. I returned to the dealership and on the way there the check engine light came on again. I returned their car and the money and gave them the codes of the engine read. They stated they would have their service people look at it. When I got back to work it was already re-listed for sale. When I traded my original car it had a full take of gas, but when I pulled out of the lot the gas light came on and now my radio doesn't work.

horrible dealership
I went there to look at a car for my daughter, the cars I looked at we're beaten up pretty bad. Fog lights missing, one wiper not working, dents and scratches all over, tires don't match, branded or rebuilt titles. But on website the dealership list cars as great condition and great tires, brakes, great running cars. I would buy a car that's been through a hurricane than to buy one off the NERD.

I regret my purchase...
Bought a Civic...one of the most storied car models for reliability....then, I bought it from Auto Nerd. One of the most storied bad dealerships in my area...somewhere in between, I'm an unhappy Civic owner who paid a high price for a vehicle that required 2 new axle shafts, a new clutch and throw out bearing, plus input shaft bearing and front brake pads/rotors...all in the first month of driving the car after purchase. Hopefully AutoNerd reads this and laughs...hopefully, a prospective customer reads it and doesn't laugh...and moves on to a better dealer.

Car Stopped Running
I purchased a used car from Auto Nerd and 1 day later it stopped running. I called the dealer and ask if it was anything they could do and they stated, they are not that type of car lot and said they would have it picked up and taken care of. It was towed back to their associated garage, only to find out the starter was out and I would be responsible for all charges. Including towing and diagnostics! Don't trust them!!
