4 stars out of 5. Here’s why: Customer Service. Our service was lead by Antonio, a Retired Chief with not only a wealth of knowledge, but also a desire to ensure that that knowledge is appropriately customized, portrayed, and passed along to customers as we shop. Test drive everything, even cars on their overflow lot. Make a deal. 5 minutes - take it or leave. I’m not wealthy. I left the first day with no hard feelings. Came back the second day and Anontio tried again and helped us to understand the financial process. The buying process. Our choice was a brand new vehicle. Given great experience in the past, we chose the large option to cover everything from head to toe - give me the price. Next, the breakdown of charges, full price, and new monthly payment. Paperwork, done, in less than 10 minutes. A loss of 1 star only because their service department is so backed up and busy. Vehicles are all over the place with customers from cities miles and miles away. It does not look fun.

Great dealer

My Jeep was ready for me upon arrival, as was all the paperwork needing to be signed. Antonio went through all the vehicle options and operating controls. He was very friendly, patient, knowledgeable, and thorough.

Had a great experience from the time we walked in the door. The team that helped us, Mark, Antonia, Morgan and Sal Made this the best carb buying experience I’ve ever had. When we walked out the door with our new vehicle, all our questions were answered and they were able to get the price that worked for us. Highly recommended !

I just want to compliment Robert for his exceptional customer service. He was great to work with and really went above and beyond to secure our desired car and ensure top quality. It was a pleasure working with him and we would highly recommend him. Morgan, her warm reception upon our arrival made us felt welcome. She updated us regularly about the status of the vehicle's arrival to the lot, after our test drive Morgan prepared us for purchase negotiations. She answered all our questions related to our purchase, explaining clearly options available to us, her professionalism and attention to our needs made the purchase experience pleasant and smooth. New Jeep Gladiator

Great experience. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Didn't feel pressured at all. Gave me an incredible deal. If you are at the Autonation Jeep Dodge dealership in Carlsbad, California Ask for Antonio. He was phenomenal!

Service department is a complete joke.

Service department is a complete joke. I have bought 2 Jeep Cherokees, one from this dealership. My current vehicle has a recall that i didn´t know about until I tried to renew my DMV registration. I found out that I can´t get it renewed until the recall issue is fixed. I called Autonation Carlsbad and was told to come in ant they could provide a form that I could use to get my tags. Nope, the person din´t know what she was talking about and I was informed I might have to wait 6 months, which doesn´t do me much good when my tags are about to expire. I have been promised call backs from supervisors on several occasions and not once have they followed through. Driving around with expired tags while my case with Chrysler Jeep is waiting to be heard.

I took my Grand Cherokee in at 8:00 AM for its 15 year

I took my Grand Cherokee in at 8:00 AM for its 15 year inspection in order to preserve my lifetime power train warranty from the factory. The inspection is free. I called the dealership around 4 pm and subsequently left two more text and email messages for my service advisor to find out when I could pick the car up. I got a call at 5:45 pm saying I could pickup the car before 6 pm. My wife got a call at 6:01 saying the same thing. I live 20 minutes away. I arranged to pickup the car from the sales department after hours. Upon picking up the vehicle, there was mud on the drivers floor mat. Needless to say I wasn’t impressed with either the communication or the condition of my car upon pickup. That aside, on a separate occasion I was in need of a replacement thermostat after mine failed. The dealership wanted $125 for a thermostat. I purchased one from Amazon for $20. Subsequently I purchased control arms from a local parts store for roughly 1/4 of the dealer’s price. The dealer wanted $2,200 to replace the fluids in the transmission, transfer case, both differentials and the radiator. I got the work done at a local garage for 1/3 of the price. It’s sad, I have purchased 3 jeeps, and one Chrysler from Bob Baker Jeep/chrysler over the years and I am currently in the market for a fourth jeep. Unfortunately, I will have to shop at a non-AutoNation dealer from now on. Bob Baker Jeep always treated me well. Too bad the new owners don’t subscribe to the “It’s so nice to be nice” mantra.
