Excellent, only electric and gas car on market
This is great car only one on market that is electric and gas! Not a hybrid or just electric like tesla. It actually can go back and forth from electric and gas. And it can just be used as gas car as well. More people should be buying this car. Dont have to fill up gas maybe once or even twice year. Really.. The 2017 is even more amazing, but 2014 we love it. I am so happy we traded jeep guzzler in for eco friendly electric-gas car! Love it already only been 3 days. I would love for my family and i to be on commercial to promote the volts. Go green with the chevy volt machine!!! Thxs, A&J

Great car, dishonest sales person
Asked the salesman at Chevrolet of Smithtown if this was a certified vehicle, he said "yes of course". 3 weeks later had a problem with charging the car and had to pay $500. + for repair that should have been covered.

First car that is actually fun to drive
Bought used in Dec 2016, so have had it 4 months. Have yet to put gas in it, 1000 miles of local driving. Rides great and I love the regen braking. I'm thinking I'll never have to replace the pads. Certainly a situational car application, but for driving around town, it's great. I 'm getting about 40 miles per charge, and more like 45 is I stay off the freeway. If you like smooth, think when you drive, this can be a lot of fun. Such a nice interior, push button start, walk away and it locks. Wish Onstar had a basic service that provided all the app tools.

Cool concert but has some major shortfall
I lease this car and I was having way too many expectation and forgot the some major shortfall. This car was price near 40k but the interior feel like car is 10-15k cheaper. The major sell point was the 2 engine system (electric and gas). Lets go to negative first, the gas engine is the most dislike about this car. When it kick in is loud and not fun to drive. The mpg is mixpage for gas only engine getting about 35 to 36mpg. There's no moon roof or powerseat even the new model still don't had those common essential features. The button in the center console is terrible and not always respond property. No back center seat, the battery took that space. The charging time is not good it take about 4 hours to charge from dead battery. The brake and handle is also weak point of this car, this car was having low body designs which make non sense. Not a fast car when you goes to freeway, the cabinet noise is louder than I prefer. Take premium gas ! On-Star guided navigation is very basic only show you when to about to turn. The good part of this car is that you have a 9 gallon gas tank as backup if battery runs out, pretty quick short distance acceleration. No engine noise when running battery, pretty spacious in the back for storage. Dual LCD screen and good detail big text screen. Cool app let you know where you car located, lock the car when you away or unlocked (very useful) can turn the ac on ahead of time. Free On Star for 3 years useful when you going to area no or weak signal. I got a good mpeg about 102 in almost 45k miles. It wasn't easy at all and since I had to spend good amount of time walk to nearby charging station. No maintenance issue and the stock tire still has reasonable trend left in almost 45k miles. Overall, I think is average car and since was the first design and model, they wasn't fully obligated to goes electric when they design this car. Now it is with the (Bolt), that car will be much better if they had those common thin you find in gas car, even the new model still lack those thing is a bumper. I prefer the look of this car (especially the rear light) over the new model. This car was not cheap in lease about same as 3 series, you can get this car cheap in used mark for 11-14k now days which is could be good bargain.

This car is fantastic
I bought a 2014 Chevy Volt couple of month ago and I love it. The Volt is a very impressive very quiet and smooth car, it drives like a bigger car! If you were thinking of buying electric, hybrid or ANY car in the same size category this IS the car. The fuel consumption is minimal as you can always have a full charge in 8 hours with the home charging at 12 amps, but that is not only what I will buy the car for, it is built well, the panel is easy to read and all systems are easy to deal with. The music system is great and you can enjoy it as the car is not only quiet but no engine vibration. Great value for money if used and in good condition. I love it and thanks for Chevrolet for the innovation. Go and get yourself one. NB mine has the premium package

I am very much disappointed with my 2014 Chev volt
I have big issues with the Chev Volt. First, on several occasions I was left behind on the parking lots, had requested a tow truck and often left the car in the garage because it does not start. Second, my front right axle broke down and have to replace it. Too bad for a two year old car. I am planning to trade in for another car.

Best Car I have owned
I just switched from a Prius 3 to a Volt. The Volt not only looks better, but drives better. I love how the seats feel and the safety of Onstar. My Prius speaker for making a call never worked properly, but the Volt has a phone built in the car. I plug it in & receive forty-three miles to a charge. My first car was a Cheverolet and my last car is a Chevrolet. Nice car!

First month with the volt
Went from a Prius to the volt. The Prius was great but cheap interior, no power, etc My son leased a leaf which he loves and is using time of day plan so his costs are minimal but I needed a car that I could use on trips. I have been intrigued by the volt and finally made the decision 1.Am retired so almost all miles are on electric 2.Am at 185 miles per gallon on first 1000 miles Yahoo 3 Have yet to put gas in the car 4We have been doctoring at the mayo hospital as my wife had a transplant and guess what - they have a blink charger. the distance is 47 miles and I can make it on electric if I am careful, charge than full electric home. 5.Only specific helpful comment I have is that the commercial chargers can be expensive but are a great convenience when you need them. 5.At this point do not have 240volt charger. I realize not too much useful info as yet but am so enthusiastic about this great car.!!!!

The Volt IS The Best Car That We'll Ever Owned!
We bought our 2014 Chevy Volt at the end of 2013, and have just turned over 41,000 miles. The only maintenance that has been done is tire rotations, a routine wheel alignment, and a recall of an evaporative canister. The only thing that we have paid for was the alignment. I'm a retired airline pilot, and my wife is a semi-retired teacher. We've owned many different cars over the years, and have rented scores and scores -- all over the world. The Volt is unmistakably the best car that we have ever owned! No one is paying me to say this, by the way. The Volt drives like a BMW, but costs a tiny fraction of the price. You can drive it like an economy car, or push it around (in Sport Mode) and enjoy the silent adrenalin rush of electric car driving. You will never worry about your battery range, because it does not really matter. Our around town battery range has been consistently 49 miles. On the interstate at 70 mph, we get about 38 miles of range. If you're on a long trip, the gas range is an additional 350 miles, for a total of around 400 miles, then you can stop and refill the gas tank or charge the battery. The choice is yours. That's the magic of the Volt! We've driven it on a couple of 1200 mile trips, with three adults, and it served us very well. It's quiet, smooth, comfortable, and economical! The rear bucket seats are very comfortable for local or long range riding. 3/4 of our driving has been purely on electric power. We have PV solar panels, so at least part of those miles have been solar-powered. We have not detected any change to our electric usage since we bought the Volt, by the way. This car is built at GM's Detroit-Hamtramck plant by union car builders. You get all of the pleasure of driving a quality, fun-to-drive, safe, performance automobile, without leaving a cloud of toxic stink in your wake. Even considering the environmental impact of electricity generation, you will not drive cleaner than you will in an electric car! Just test drive one. You'll understand what all the buzz is about!

Never go back to a Prius
I have 2014 Volt with 18 k miles I average 140 MPG and I just had my first service with oil / filter change all paid for by the dealer. I've owned 4 Prius since 2004 and there is no comparison, the Volt out performs, out looks and has over 3 times the electric range than a Plug in Prius. Everyone I know that has a Prius I let them drive it and everyone says the same no comparison. Not a good 4 passenger car two kids are fine but 2 adults in the back seat don't want to go far. I'm not crazy about the Generator noise once it shifts over to gas but you do get use to it. My Electric bill cost about $1.75 per month I usually charge it every night. My average gas usage is 7.5 gallons per month since I purchased it. If you travel per day 35 to 45 miles this car is perfect for you ! Not that it wouldn't be perfect otherwise but that's the sweet spot you may never see a gas station again.
