I'll never buy a gas powered car again.
I love to drive it because it is totally silent. Accelerates quickly and silently and doesn't need gas.

2013 and 2014 volts
We have purchased two Chevy Volts, 2013 and 2014. Our family really likes how quite they are and the fact we can go everywhere around town without buying gas. I drive the volt everyday 41 miles, most days I make it on all electric if I drive 55-60 on the highway, then drive the local roads as much as possible. If you keep the speed below 50 you can get more than 41 miles, this is our experience. There are many ways to save energy while driving, and I have learned to use them all. My wife drives her volt around town, 20 miles or so, she uses all electric. One thing to consider on the volt, when the temp. outside gets below 36 degrees, the car will come on for a short time on gas, this improves operating range, and keeps the car battery warm. The gas used is usually like .17 gallons or less per trip. We have averaged over 350 mpg. while we've owned the vehicles.

Great car, great value
This car is great to drive. With an electric drivetrain it has no gear shift and maximum torque immediately. This provides a really comfortable acceleration, that is remarkably strong at lower speeds, particularly if using the "sports" drive setting. The lack of a gearbox and the fact that most people will drive a lot more miles on the battery power than the generator/combustion engine power makes for a very low cost on maintenance and repairs. The cost of driving on electricity from your home is less than half of what it would cost you to drive in a gasoline driven car. I bough one that was about 3.5 years old and paid only about $500 more than a similarly equipped (and aged) Cruze would have cost. I will not only have much more comfortable and noise free drive, but save that much in gasoline cost just in the first year. As long as there is a unfounded fear of battery life, the informed drivers can get a huge bargain on these used Volts. Because it is build on the same platform as the Cruze it doesn't have much backseat passenger leg room. So I would not recommend it if you often drive with more than 2 adults on anything but short trips.

Love it so far.
Love driving on electric most days. It gets about 40 miles on all electric. Doubt I will see a gas pump more than once every other month.

Love the car, most economical, but not cheap!
This car costs practically nothing to operate, oil changes are practically never and I have only purchased 3 tanks of gas. It is quick, ultra quiet and comfortable with all the amenities - XM radio, OnStar, bluetooth, CD player, cruise, power everything, rear camera, etc. Just a great all around car.

I have had 6 Volts and all of them great
Rides like a large car, handles like a sports car. I use 1 to 2 tanks of gas a year. Never any problems. Goes through snow better than any front wheel drive car I have ever had. Also goes through flooded streets with water over the hood with no issues.

Coolest car ever:
This is the most well engineered car I have ever been exposed to. This is the best of both worlds, a plug in hybrid that I can save big on fuel and yet still drive anywhere I want, as far as I want, without fear of running out of range.
