Own volt for 10 years

Had to have the air conditioner worked on three times. $2000 twice and $500 once at 4yr, 6 yr and 7 years. Condenser then compressor then a hose. Would not let me charge it once , took it to Chevy $110 to check codes It needed a little water in the radiator.

So happy with my 2012 Volt!

I bought this 2012 Volt two years ago used, with 22,000 miles on it. I'm up to about 29,000 miles now. Last year I put two gallons of gas in it and all other miles were electric. It saved me vast amounts of money on gas and rides like a true luxury car. I expect to keep it until well over 100,000 miles. The only thing I didn't care for was the control column touch buttons, but once I got used to them it was never a problem. It's very comfortable, and I'm very happy I was able to buy an 8-year-old car with only 22,000 miles on it, I'd buy it again if I didn't already have one.

Worst decision of my life

I did tons of research before buying my 2014 volt (used) with less than 10k miles. Immediately I was not getting anything over 29miles electric on a full charge. Dealership had my car for 3 days and wouldn't give me any answers until i called and harassed them for info on what the status was. They claim that nothing is wrong and it is fine even though even with them charging it, it only charged to 27. For the gas mileage I'm getting on this I could have bought a 2014 spark for less money and be getting the same gas mileage... without having the stress of the battery/ev system failing as soon. As it's put of warranty (less than 200 miles now). DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY

Surprisingly nimble, fun to drive little car

The Volt turned out to be a great all around commuter car with great mileage and much more utilitarian than I expected thanks to the hatch back. Very quiet and stress free one pedal driving car around town. Quite a learning curve getting use to Infotainment system but nice.

The most fun car I have ever owned

If you like smooth, quiet, solid, and green you would like a Volt. The plug in hybrid is the perfect all purpose car. I live in the burbs so 90% of my driving is on battery. Driving in town is most efficient, and I get about 45 miles per charge, 4 miles/kilowatt. Want to keep on going, the gas engine kicks in, you hardly know it and away you go. I do not drive that much, but this car has been carefree with a great website for owners to share issues. GM made a huge mistake abandoning this car. It will be a long time before I head out on a long trip with a full electric, short of a Tesla. This, for 45 miles, is a Tesla most can afford and enjoy.

Best Value I've Ever Had

Quick in sport mode, 30-34 miles on battery with 270 miles backup on gas. Very quiet, high quality materials, very reliable. Saved over $2,000/year in fuel costs along with $105/month discount on home power bill from local power company. Car pays for itself!

Amazing car , really economical, smooth car ride

Husband is 6’5 and is just not comfortable and wants a bigger car. I love the car . I have a regular plug and plug it in every evening and get full charge every day. What i really like is it has back up to gas . I can go long distance on gas as well and plug in when i can. I go many months between oil changes . Maybe 2 times a year. Fun car to drive. Many good features, back up camera, hand free phone. Chevy app lets you start your car from your office . Also has auto start .
