The body paint is easily scratched and chipped. The metal is easily dented and flexes easily, even with gentle pressure from your hand. The onboard entertainment system SYNC is crippled with bugs and does not come close to performing as it should. Everything on this vehicle is expensive to maintain or fix. The entire line of EcoBoost models from 2015-2018 were engineered with faulty engines that can cause coolant intrusion into the engine at any time, causing the entire engine to need to be replaced with an approximately $9k (CDN) price tag. This is a widespread known issue and Ford has done nothing to address it for their customers. As well the front brake lines were already recalled but now the rear brake lines are also being investigated by the NTSB after many reports of them exploding without provocation. This happened to me about a month ago. The brakes failed to stop the car at a red light at a main intersection and almost caused a major accident with my son in the car. Thank goodness one of the other drivers was paying attention and was able to come to a stop or it would have been catastrophic. On top of all that, the car is a gas guzzler. I’m not sure what I’m going to do with mine now. I’m certainly not sinking $9k into it for a new engine that shouldn’t have failed in the first place. But I can’t sell it as-is. So it’ll probably go to auction for parts and I’ll get pennies on the dollar for it. This is my second Ford and my second Ford lemon. Never again.

Headgasket gone at 102k miles ford did nothing. Even though it is a known concern. Ford just do the right thing fix my car. As soon as possible

Just like previous complaints now I am sitting here

Just like previous complaints now I am sitting here saddened by not knowing what to do about having a vehicle. Coolant is going into the engin and now needs a new long block. Insurance will not cover, warranty will not cover, Ford will not acknowledge and make a recall to fix. It's going to cost eight thousand dollars to fix it. If you have any sense at all do not buy a ford. This was my first ford and will be my last. This is a piece of junk!! Ford knows and will not fix the issues.

!!!!!BUYER BEWARE!!!! If you buy this vehicle make sure it has the new engine in it or an extended warranty and RUN to the Ford dealer to have it replaced! Otherwise you’re on the hook for an $8000 engine replacement. Ford is aware of this issue and will not recall it. There is currently a ***Class Action Lawsuit out of CA***for this issue. These dealerships are aware of this issue and it should be illegal to sell these vehicles with out addressing this issue!

I just said a week prior that I loved this car and would keep it forever, but with only 120,000 miles I am joining the defective engine club! Same issue as everyone stated! Coolant all over the engine and the engine needs to be replaced for a lovely $8,000. 6 year old paid off car and now I need a new engine! Absolutely ridiculous!! The dealership gave me a value you of $3,000 towards another car! Ha! The service technician also told me escapes were having the same issue and ended up getting a recall. How do we get a recall on this? Absolutely mortified my 6 year old car is worth 3k.

Bad Engine Created an Unsafe Ride

I have joined the defective engine club. My 2018 is getting a new engine due to coolant leaking into cylinders. Nice going Ford. I have an extended warranty paying for this and car rental. My next question, what else besides my third set of rotors on the brakes is going to happen to this car. I now don't trust it for long trips alone on deserted highways. I am probably going to get rid of it and do to either Honda Toyota or Volvo. I am a caregiver and this engine defect could have had serious medical concerns for the person I was transporting if it had died on the freeway. This car could have been a death trap as the person cannot walk, is diabetic and in frail health. Twice it over heated and I had to pull over in busy traffic, this is not good. The heater stopped working on the vehicle and I heard water sloshing around behind the dashboard. I am having brake rotors replaced for the third time. The dealership is being very cooperative in this matter and doing everything to make it right.

Buyer beware; engine failure at less than 160k

BUYER BEWARE. I bought a used 2018 2.0 Edge Titanium. While previous owners can harm the car, with ignorant owners and those who do not properly maintain cars; but this was Carfax certified and had maintenance records every 5,000 for oil changes, transmission oil changes at less than 100k miles, spark plug changes... etc. I started seeing issues with the vehicle around the 140k mark. Check engine light would come on intermittently and were small codes. I have not owned this vehicle for more than 10 months and over the weekend, the car failed... total engine failure. A mechanic said that there was a major issue with the timing chain, and that with this many miles, I have a better shot at just replacing the entire motor. Keep in mind this is a $6000+ replacement at my local dealer... and I'm sure the final bill will be over that. I am having many of the issues that others are stating. From what I can tell Ford even knows that these issues are present with the vehicle, but will not recall for them. I still owe $16,000 on the vehicle and it's not even worth $5,000 now. They do not hold value well, and mine couldn't break 160k miles after being properly maintained. Please be advised and stay away from this model.

I have a 2018 Edge Titiaum with just over 15,000 miles. Could not get the cruise control to work. Dealer just informed me it is going to need a module costing over 17,000 , plus 300.00 labor. Seems this part should last longer than 15.000 miles.

2018 SEL V-6 excellent!!

Best used vehicle I have ever purchased!! The V-6 on my SEL makes it fun to drive, although it is a bit of a gas guzzler. I don't care because I put more priority on get up and go then MPG!

Roll the Dice with the 2.0 Ecoboost Engine.,,

I purchased my 2018 Ford Edge in October 2018. Recently (in the last few weeks), it began idling “rough”, emitting a white smoke from the exhaust and a check engine light came on. After taking it to the the dealership, I’ve come to find the long block engine needs replacement…I am sitting at around 115,00km (I live in Ontario). So I did some research and learned that there is a defect with the design of the 2.0L ecoboost engine installed in the 2018 Ford Edge along with several other makes and models. The design includes an upper deck coolant system that runs around the cylinders. A defect in the manufacturing of some engines causes a crack and coolant to leak into the cylinder, essentially putting a death sentence on your engine. Ford is aware of the issues as it’s been a common problem in previous makes/models. They even issued a Technician Service Bulletin (TSB) informing technicians of the issue in June 2022. Furthermore, Ford modified the design of the engine, given the issue, in April 2019. Now here I am sitting with my vehicle 4.5 years into my lease and just over the mileage allowance to be covered under warranty. These vehicles are a ticking time bomb with so much uncertainty on whether your engine is a dud or not. Zero help from Ford Canada. And now I am left to fork out the cash to have the engine replaced. It’s stunning that Ford is aware enough of the issues and doesn’t do anything to remedy the issue to loyal customers, despite their claim for customer service.z
