Most unsafe vehicle I've ever owned.
This vehicle has rusted out so bad that my rear driver side wheel and shock are completely disconnected from the frame. Could've killed my family ðŸ˜

Great vehicle. Be a really good first vehicle.
I bought mine used really cheap. I'm not a ford fan but I was in need of cheap reliable transportation and boy did I get more than what I paid for. Amazing compact SUV and is very versatile as well as reliable. Been cross country 5 times with it so far. 300,000 miles still running and driving great. Just normal maintenance.

Perfect first car
I bought this used a few years ago as my first car and it had around 98,000 miles on it. Today I’m paying around $1100 to replace the alternator, I’ve had a cylinder go bad, break pads needed replacement, etc.... but I love this car. The sound system is great, so much space, and I dread having to drive different cars.

Not sure Yet
My Son and Daughter in Law purchased this car for me. They wanted me to havea reliable vehicle to get to and from Cancer Treatments. First I became concerned when battery light kept coming on randomly. Had it checked out. Battery did need replacement, so I replaced it. Light still coming on. Had Napa and Autozone test my alternator. It passed. Lightstill coming on! Frustrating!

When I first purchase this car it was great!! good gas mileage, wonderful steering, all around smooth nice car. but then 1 year 3 months later like clock work the cars gears would get stuck when going from park to drive and so on then the car fuel pressure system, went out 5 days later the brakes went completely out with out warning while driving the car.

This thing is a workhorse!
I bought mine used with about 90,000 miles on it. It looked and drove like a new car. In 7 years I put another 170,000 miles on it. It has performed flawlessly. The All Wheel Drive got me through several snow storms with no problem. Other than oil changes and changing the tires, all I have ever had to do was once replace a brake line (less than $200) and once replaced the alternator (about $600) ...Not bad for a car that is 14 years old and has about 260,000 miles on it. It still looks and runs great....and EVERYTHING on it works! This is not an "image car" to impress your neighbors...but for UTILITY and BANG for your BUCK...it would be hard beat.

I LOVED THIS CAR
I put more than 100K miles on this car (it had 162K when I finally traded it in) and LOVED EVERYTHING about it! It was relatively reliable considering the age and mileage. It was only a FWD car, and got me through several years in the NC mountains. It was the car I received when I turned 16, and kept it for 10 years!

Poor engineering on right rear wheel area.
Between 100-150 thousand miles you can expect the wheel well to rust out and the rear shock to come up through the passenger side resulting in possible injury to passenger. Ford had a recall on this for2001-2004, but failed to extend the problem to cover 2005 design. Cost to owner to correct this $2300-5000. Shame on Ford!
