Much heavier duty than you'd think, very reliable.

My 2010 Escape 3.0, 6 spd auto has broken all the rules of cost of ownership. It just doesn't break and I tow way over the rated 3,500 lbs and that's cross country by the way, often on gravel or dirt roads. It has 281,000 miles of tough service still with orig spark plugs, struts and rear shocks. Alignment stays on track remarkably well allowing the Michelin original spec tires to last almost 100k miles per cycle with even wear. Only ever used Motorcraft factory oil, period, and the correct Mercon trans fluid. I change oil at 5k, have changed trans fluid 3 times. 2nd windshield so far. Wiper blades renewed once due again. Great Volvo designed platform, long lasting, heavy duty suspension components have surprised me. Burns no oil, great gas mileage still at about 26mpg hwy @ 281k miles, not towing though of course. Trans always shifted a little funny and clunky same as from brand new but won't quit even made to pull heavy trailers a lot of its life. Tire pressure light has been on for 100k miles or so, who cares I check the pressure. Check engine light is on for some gas tank evap sensor whatever thingy that affects nothing since 150k miles ago, so what, I know it has nothing to do with anything that can damage the drivetrain or anything else so I've ignored it for years, will never spend a penny to address that and drive it every day,

Stay away

I had a 2010 for 10 years and experienced endless expensive problems. Exhaust system had a leak and the entire thing had to be replaced for 2k, AC had a leak and that also had to be replaced, many maintenance items had to be fixed/replaced at a much lower mileage than expected. Sold it at 110,00 miles and was told by multiple companies that the transmission was going which I believe as the car was very loud and acceleration sounded off. Stay far away from Ford, much better brands out there.

Solid car for the money

This car is reliable, gas mileage is acceptable, runs smooth on the highway, only downside are the blindspots behind your left and right shoulder, it's square design makes it hard to see, mirrors help but keep this in mind.

Awesome deal on a 2010 Ford Escape

This car was exactly what I was looking for. Well taken care of, able to seat 4 and space for cargo in the rear, and available at a great price.

Has problem with rusting front frame members.

Bought it new. Has been good up until now. Front K frame rusted and broke suddenly. Complete loss of steering. Luckily I was only going about 10 mph when I hit a rumble strip when it broke. Could have been easily killed at highway speeds. Same problem the had with the 2001 mode. Vehicle only has 63,000 miles on it. Looking to see about class action lawsuits.

I loved it and would definitely buy another one

I was very impressed with the Escape, loved the moon roof. The heated seats were amazing. Very roomie, and comfortable perfect for long trips. Plenty of room for luggage,it held everything ,we never had to leave anything behind. And the rear back up in the mirror pure genius. You couldn't ask for a smoother more comfortable automobile. I will buy another one. I love my Ford

Its a great car, lots of space.

This car meets all the needs. There is a sun roof, bluetooth and lots of leg room and ac. The trunk is large and can hold plenty.

Fantastic mid level SUV

I purchased the 2010 Ford Escape XLT. This SUV is a smooth and comfortable ride. The interior is a little basic, but it makes up for the space it provides. The audio system is great, along with Bluetooth audio!! It feels like a high ride, not like you're right on the ground. So far we haven't had any issues with it!
