They still cant get it right!

This is the second newer (2006) ford f150 that I have owned. Routine maintence such as spark plugs should not cost up to $2000 dollors. The 5.4 liter 3 valve motor have a horrible reputation for the spark plugs breaking off when they are taken out. So something as simple as changing spark plugs can involve removing the heads. At best there will probly only be 2 or 3 that break off, the charge for each one is between $200 and $300. Not to mention the $260 for the special plugs themselves.

2006 King Ranch- one word - "luxury"

Beautiful, big, smooth, quiet, bought at a nice price, and hope to sell at a small profit. I need a minivan now. But in the meantime, this truck has been a real pleaure to drive. In the year I have owned it, absolutely no problems. Actually, it still even had the original battery at 5 years. Wow. At 47k, tires still look fair and probably have another 10-20k miles left on them. I guess I've been lucky. I carpool so the mpg hasn't hurt me.

Don't Buy! Ford screwed up!!

We have owned this truck for 3 years and have had to put so much money into it! The 4WD actuater went out and we don't even use 4WD. Now, we need a tune up and learned that the spark plugs can break off when being removed and you wind up needing to remove the heads!! The tune up can turn out costing the consumer OVER $3,000!!! Ford really screwed this one up. This was the first and will be the LAST Ford I ever buy.

Had problem with engine

Bought the truck new, no problem until check engine light came on, took to dealer and was told the engine had a miss and needed a coil and a spark plug. Had that repair, they broke the plug while removing and some of it fell down into the piston area. The charge for that repair was $850.00, Two weeks later the check engine light came on again, took back to dealer, was told it had a miss, they replaced the coil again and installed another plug, broke it while removing. I was charged $442.00 for the repair. A week later the check engine light came on again. Had enough, Ford isn't interested in helping resolve the problem. Traded for a Chevy. I have owned my last Ford.

Best Truck

Great Truck! Infact best I have ever owned. Beautiful and dependable Tough Truck. Only complaint would be to get better fuel milage and I guess Ford has solved that with the 2011 line up.

Once you own the best you can forget the rest

I had a 2002 Ranger Supercab 4X4 with the 4.0 Engine. I went to my Ford dealer in Jan 2007 just to say high and the used car manager told me he had something I may like. Sitting on his lot was a 2006 F-150 XLT 4X4 Supercab. It was a program vehicle and was just traded in. I was looking to trade up because the Ranger was getting older and just seemed to get smaller. I took the truck out for a test drive and when I got back I said get me the paper work. I took it off the lot that same day. It had about 25k miles on it and is now almost 70,000 and other then the normal maintainence like oil brakes and tires I have not had any mechanical problems what so ever. This truck came loaded with power door lock and keypad entry power windows power driver seat and adjustable pedals. Sirius Radio. Parking assist sensors make backing up a breeze. It has the 8 foot bed and the one draw back to it is parking in certain parking lots because the rear sticks out about 2 feet. One final thing. If and when I decide I no longer want my F-150 it's either because I am dead or purchased a newer F-150 or F-250
