Not for smaller drivers
We rented a 2013 Ford Fusion for a road trip recently in order to try it out with the idea that it might be our next car purchase. It is one of the most uncomfortable cars either of us has ever been in. I suppose if you are a large framed person it may be OK, but I am 5' 2" and 100 lbs, and the passenger seat is much too low for me and not adjustable for height. The driver's seat is a little better. My husband is 5' 9" and ended up with leg cramps and a stiff neck due to the uncomfortable seats. Visibility is poor. We never did figure out exactly how the turn signal worked. It would stay on while being held in position, but not if the lever was let go of. We found the criss-crossing windshield wipers to be very distracting while driving in heavy rain. The middle dash panel where the audio components are located had a very annoying audible vibration the entire trip, and there was a fair amount of road noise. Gas mileage is so-so. I much prefer the Nissan Altima for adjustability to different sizes of drivers. We will not be buying the Fusion, regardless of the positive reviews about how it looks.

Still new
The car is still very new to me, but thus far I love it. The ride is supportive but still sporty and my daily commute is now a breeze. The car is almost silent and I don't have any issue using the bluetooth connection for calls. The transmission does have some room for improvement though. Shifts at very low speeds in stop/go traffic can be jarring and the speeds of the shifts themselves are very slow. The AWD performance of my Titanium still needs to be tested this winter.

Great Car
The 2013 Ford Fusion ranks 2 out of 20 Affordable Midsize Cars. This ranking is based on our analysis of 15 published reviews and test drives of the Ford Fusion, and our analysis of reliability and safety data. Test drivers say that stand-out looks, lively handling and a roomy interior make the redesigned 2013 Fusion a great choice in its class. Like other affordable midsize cars, the 2013 Ford Fusion no longer offers a six-cylinder engine. Instead, the Fusion offers three four-cylinder engines with a range of horsepower and fuel economy ratings. The base engine comes with an automatic transmission, the mid-level engine offers either a manual or automatic and the top engine is mated to an automatic and offers optional all-wheel drive. The mid-level 1.6-liter EcoBoost with the automatic is expected to be the high-volume model, and it gets 23/36 mpg city/highway, which is good for the class. Most auto critics drove the mid- and top-level EcoBoost engines, saying they deliver strong acceleration. Left Lane News writes, "Ford's 1.6 and 2.0-liter EcoBoost engines were perfectly suited along Mulholland Highway and Topanga Canyon Roads, where grades of 8 percent were the norm. We never felt underpowered in either when climbing hills or passing slower traffic." Reviewers consider the Fusion one of the sportier handlers in the class, and they like the added traction the available all-wheel drive provides. The Fusion also has one of the highest reliability ratings in its class. The Ford Fusion is the 2013 Best Midsize Car for the Money because it has the best combination of ownership costs and positive reviews in its class. The Fusion is also the 2013 Best Midsize Car for Families because it has the best combination of quality, size and family-friendly features in its class.

Fusion Saves the Day
Following a flood, my good old friend was totaled and had to be replaced. A car rental company rented me a Ford Fusion Titanium and i fell in love with all its bells and whistles -- which i didn't need, but I found a Fusion SE which suit me to a "T". Learning how to use the phone function was an experience and I'm now trying to learn its other features!

Great Ride
I purchased a 2013 Ford Fusion1.6L with leather package, moon roof, and mytouch. With just over 2k miles on it, I am averaging 32 MPG with mostly highway driving which is pretty good considering I have a heavy foot (70-75 MPH) and hilly roads. Mytouch is easy to work with no problems. Great handling, smooth, quiet and comfortable ride. If you are in the market for car, definitely check out the new Fusion.

2013 Fusion SE W/1.6 Eco-Boost vs 2010 Fusion SE
2013 CONS: Getting fewer miles per gallon vs. the 2010, with no change in my driving habits. This may be due in part because the 2013 is a heavier car -- especially the doors. The gas tank cover is now "push-to-open" vs. the 2010 with a finger grip that you simply pull open. 2013 cover easily accidentally hit and left open. The small storage compartment on top of dashboard is replaced with compartment at the front of the console just under the radio. It's open on both sides and in front, making it very easy & dangerous for things to fly out into the driver's floor. Trunk lid much more shallow in dept & doesn't rise as high as 2010, so you have less headroom when lid is open --makes loading items into the truck harder, and you're more prone to hitting you head on the trunk lid. Trunk also not as wide, but it is deeper front-to-back. Console larger in width and height. Great for arm-rest comfort but causes drink bottles to sit much higher & get in driver's way. Also diminishes side-to-side leg room, especially on passenger side. 2013 now has 2 separate levers -- turn signal on left & wiper control on right -- wiper very sensitive & easily hit. Glove compartment now has a small half-shelf --annoying as things tend to fall off it. 2013 PROS: The car is a dream to drive. I detected road noise in my 2010, but so far none in the 2013, nor a single rattle. The 1.6L eco-boost engine has so far been very responsive & I've noticed no decrease in performance compared to my 2010 with a larger engine. Shallow depth of trunk lid seems to have allowed for a larger back window, which greatly helps with visibility. I opted for the 203B pkg which has the base radio & smaller screen than the touch-screen with the backup camera. The base radio is far superior to the base radio in the 2010, which got almost nothing but static when trying to pick up local Atlanta stations (just 35 miles from where I live). I have no static issues at all with the 2013 radio. I opted for the base radio as the next step up has the touch screen with the backup camera, which initially I thought would be a great safety feature. But when testing a car with the backup camera I found the screen to be angled to a degree not allowing me to see much of anything but 2 red lines indicating the area being caught by the camera. The radio screen is now larger on the base radio, allowing for larger numerals showing the time, and the date is now shown. This is the first radio I've ever had on which I can actually easily see the time, especially when driving. The USB port under the arm rest on the console has been moved to a much better angle and is clearly visible. I've found the small wide-angle mirrors affixed to the side-view mirrors to be a great safety feature. The driver's side power seat adjustment is much easier to fine-tune now. The 2010 had a single lever which adjusted both the back angle and the height and front-to-back spacing. The 2013 has a separate lever to adjust the back angle, and another lever to adjust the front-to-back area and height. There is also a power adjustment for the lumbar. NOT SURE ABOUT: This is the first car I've ever had that has an electric brake lever, which is to the side of the gear shift knob on the console. So far I've not had a problem with it, and there is explained in the manual a means of releasing the brake should the power fail. While it may seem I have more CONS on this car, they are small and the PROS have outweighed them. My major concerns are performance, safety and reliability. If this car proves to be as good as my 2001 Taurus, which I kept for almost 8 years, I will keep it for quite a few years. The 2010 was proving to have more small problems than I cared to deal with. That said -- I'm now waiting to see if I get the gas tank recall notice on the 2013. There was a recall on the eco-boost equipped model before I made this purchase. Only time will tell, but I have high hopes so far.

Good, But With Few Exceptions
I may be an old lady (68) but I've always loved cars and I tend to have a lead foot. A month ago I traded my 2010 Fusion for the 2013 with the 1.6L EcoBoost engine. So far I've not seen any major difference in performance. I opted for the basic 203B package, so no fancy radio, etc. I found when testing the higher end system with the backup view camera that the radio screen was angled so I was unable to actually see anything but the red lines indicating something was behind me. Cons: getting about one mile per gallon less on fuel. But this seems to be a heavier car, especially the doors, which could cause the lower mpg. The trunk on the 2010 was wider (we still have another 2010 so it's easy to compare), but the 2013 is slightly deeper. The trunk lid is more shallow in depth and doesn't raise as high as the 2010, which makes it more difficult to avoid hitting my head when putting my walker in the trunk (don't laugh--I'm serious!). Front passenger leg room is not as wide (there seems to be a hump on the right side just forward of the door which is cumbersome for the front passenger, and the console is much larger and wider, so that also seems to lessen the width). I miss the small storage compartment on top of the dashboard I had on the 2010. It's been moved to the area under the dashboard just below the radio. It's an open compartment, both on each side and in front, so it's very easy for things to fly out of it, which happened to me while driving, which is dangerous. So be sure not to over load it. The 2010 has wiper/turn signal on one control of the left of the steering wheel. The 2013 has a separate wiper control on the right of the steering wheel and turn signal is on left of wheel. The wiper control is easily hit and is very sensitive, which is annoying. I prefer the single lever used on the 2010.. The gas tank lid is a pop-out lid, compared to the 2010 which has a finger hole and you simple pull the lid outward. I find the pop-out lid is easily hit if I'm walking by it in the garage, so I have to be careful and watch to make sure I haven't accidentally left it open. The glove compartment now has a shelf, which I find annoying as things seem to fall off it. I did put some rubberized shelf paper on it, which has helped a little. The hand holes on the doors are now open at the bottom, which I don't like. PROS: The 2013 is a dream to drive. It's much quieter than my 2010. It's very responsive and smooth riding. The console is much larger and higher than the 2010 and the added height makes resting my right arm more comfortable. On the downside, the higher height means drink bottles get in your way. Because the trunk lid is rather shallow in depth that allows for a larger back window and better visibility. I love the small added wide-view mirror on both side-view mirrors. The added AC vent at the back of the console to cool those in the backseat is a plus. The radio is of higher quality than in my 2010. In my old 2010 and in the 2010 we still own there was bad static when trying to listen to stations in Atlanta (35 miles from where I live). I've had no problems at all like that with the 2013. The power seat adjustment now has two levers -- one for the seat height and one for the back, plus a power lumbar control, making fine-tuning your seat much easier. The USB port in the console compartment under the armrest is now much easier to get to. The radio screen is larger than on the comparable radio in the 2010. This allows larger numerals showing the time, and they added a date display, which comes in handy. While it may seem I have more "cons" than "pros", the "pros" out-weigh the "cons" to such a degree that I'll probably keep this car for quite a few years--if it doesn't develop serious problems. I'm waiting now to see if I receive the gas tank recall notice -- although I have not noticed any sign of leakage or gas odor. I've learned to be careful when putting things in the trunk so I don't hit my head, and not to over load the little storage compartment at the front of the console. Those are minor.

2013 Fusion
Decide to downsize my vehicle, so I bought a magazine that compared the various models. I got to the Fusion, and liked the looks. they listed the pros and cons of the car, and under pro they said it was a "game changer". Pretty high praise I thought. So I began my 4 month trek to select my car. Test drove the base model with the Direct Injected 2.5 engine, and found it lacking in power, but liked the overall feel of the car. I briefly thought about the 1.6 eco boost, but reading the specs, it produced only 3 more horsepower and 3 more pounds of torque than the 2.5. I then decided on the 2.0 echo boost with 240 horsepower. I am satisfied with my choice, love the car so far, and would suggest the Titanium over the SE.

Getting lots of looks
I have been driving my 2013 Black Tuxedo Fusion SE for 2 months and enjoy every minute of it. This is my first new car, so all of it is kind of overwhelming. The electronics and the comfort in itself are great. I have been driving mostly in the City so mileage is about 21-22 MPG. This compared to my old 1976 truck at 9 miles per gallon is a pleasant surprise. I have had nothing but good luck with mine and would recommend it highly. I also get a lot of looks from drivers not quite sure what brand it is. You tell them Ford and it's like WOW, "I didn't know Ford made such cool looking cars"
