Got this car after my grandfather passed and I love it.
Got this car after my grandfather passed and I love it. Got it with just over 60k miles but he hadn't maintained it over the years so a lot of work had been done over the past couple months. Needed a new radio, gas tank, oil fill, back window, tires, had some electrical issues and rodent damage, etc. It runs great and I get a lot of compliments on the looks of the truck. I wish it was stick shift and had 4WD but it's easy to drive. I have the passenger seats in the back which my friends cram into and we all fit. Love this truck so much!!

243, 800+ miles and does everything I need it to do.
243, 800+ miles and does everything I need it to do. Interior still excellent. Have done replacements and repairs as you would for any 24 year old vehicle. Shifter bushing needs replacing (today), first time ever. I ve taken very good care of it, no doubt, but would with any vehicle. Hope to keep it another 250k miles!! I m original owner, purchased May 2000!

Super reliable!
My 2000 Ranger (3.0 V6 2WD) has over 180k miles on it and still runs great. I replaced a full injector and the upper and lower ball joints, but that's it. Everything else has been maintenance (e.g., brakes, tires, spark plugs, shocks, hoses, etc.). If you find a 2000 Ranger in good shape with under 150k miles, buy it.

Replaced almost everything, but remains reliable.
Bought my 2000 Ford Ranger XLT 5 speed manual in 2003 for $3k from a co-worker and I've replaced just about everything but the engine, estimated $10k in parts, so far. But not bad for a 20 yr. old truck. At 230k miles today it rides good although the suspension probably needs replaced. Just a few exterior rust spots and ragged out interrior.

Best Truck EVER!
My Ford Ranger just turned 22 years old and has 205,000 MI. I bought the car on an impulse as my old vehicle which was a Saturn, the air conditioner had stopped working and I live in Florida and was driving home from work which was about a 40 minute commute and I simply couldn't take it anymore, and just pulled into a Ford dealership on my way home. I looked at the used vehicles and found this Ford Ranger that was white, and was a step side extended cab, that already had tinted windows and the bed liner and only had 24,000 miles. So I traded in my vehicle and drove home in my new truck. It has been so reliable and in all those 22 years all I've had to replace was a PCV valve, my lower ball joints, change the brakes and tires and a blower motor for the air conditioner. I think that's a pretty great record for vehicle and couldn't imagine my life without it.

This is the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned.
I've had this truck for over 20 years. No problems. I've only done the regular maintenance and had to swap out the radiator after 15 years and had to replace the alternator. If you can find a used Ranger in good condition with under 120,000 (and has had the camshaft synchronizer replaced if it has over 100,000 miles), it should prove to be a reliable vehichle. Mine has the 3.0 liter V6 with automatic trans. I understand that the new Rangers are also expected to be as reliable.
