Very Good Little Truck

This is actually a 1997. I’ve also owed a 1999 Mazda B4000, which is actually the same truck. They are very good truck. Just the right size for an occasional haul. With normal factory recommended service, it can last a long time. They have been known to go 300,000 miles. I wish they still made these small trucks. The new Ranger is not as small.

Without a doubt, my 00 Ranger, she is reliable 💯!

Bought this Ford Ranger with 130k on it and a history as fleet truck 5#! She is just a plain Jane 2WD Auto XL. I put a rebuilt tranny in it because i got it for $1400 without a reverse. After nine years of being my only vehicle, going thru divorce, moving 5x etc..I only put brakes , new brake line, tires, spark plugs and filters... and reg.maint. so @ 130k My fly wheel cracked and i replaced it. & the starter. Also, all flushes , I put 110k on it, and never had she left me stranded, even when i was behind on money and went TOO long between maint. Intervals!!! My Engine is still strong and has much life left.!! Great all over all little runner!!! I love my truck...wont sell it no way for some new trucks hassles! True Blue for my pick/up😉

Great Hauler

Other than the starter giving out at 19 years old, it never gave me a problem. Great little truck for hauling. Very reliable & inexpensive to own and operate.

Great pickup..

Love it! 136 thousand miles on it, front brakes replaced. Great for two people, tumble seats in rear, not so good. Great storage area. Average 20 miles to the gallon, uses no oil. Good ride. Solid little pickup...

my 4th one and the worst.

Compared to previous model cheap, poorly made. Both door handles busted. Electric window one side quit. I have a dead cyl(5) and no codes or check engine light.I want my 96 back. best truck I ever had

Best trucks I ever owned.

I think Ford Rangers are the best of the best, when it come to small trucks. I use to work at GM and Chrysler, but I picked a ford Ranger. Most dependable and trust worthy vehicle you can buy. GM and ford make good trucks but I like the ranger. It seem it will run forever.

Lots of Problems

I bought this truck 6 years ago to drive in the winter months. My primary vehicle is stored away each winter. After one year of ownership I had to replace the engine. There was a problem with one of the bolts on the front of the engine that went through a water jacket. Over time, if the bolt loosens it dumps coolant into the oil. Very poor design from Ford. My truck has the V6 engine and gets about 14 mpg on its best day. The interior is bland, monochromatic, and has lots of plastic. My tach has not worked in 3 years. My drivers side mini door doesn't open anymore. This truck is the supercab XLT 4x4 model. The winters here are terrible on cars. I did not spray off the truck weekly the last two years during winter and now there is rust on the quarters and on both doors. Don't pay too much for a used Ranger because you will spend the dough during ownership. I would NOT purchase another Ranger.

Most fun and reliable

Beside the cramp back seats, it's a great truck. Back seats a great for less than 30 minutes trip. Longer trip can be tough.
