First Ford
I bought my Ranger in March 2006. When I purchased it I had not done my research, which is now causing me a headache. Previously, I have owned sedans and Toyota pick-ups, I thought the same perks would come with the Rangere. Boy, was I mistaken. It is horrible on gas!!! I have a manuel transmission and am not impressed by the performance. The interior is built very cheap, many things have fallen off or quit working. It does handle very well, under 60 mph. Any driving over 60 mph is very squirelly, especially in the wind. I am also now concerned about the dependability since the tachometer has stopped working.

About the Ranger
My 2000 Ranger is a fully loaded XLT 4x4 with some extra features such as a brush guard and side running boards. I fell in love with its well-designed interior and exterior. I bought it before I had really done my homework. I soon realized what a rough, gas-guzzling ride it was. A short pro & con list sums it up: PRO - Value - Interior design. The dash and instrument panel is very attractively designed. - Mechanically sound. - Good turn radius. CON - HORRIBLE gas mileage (15 mpg if you're lucky!) - Rough ride. Hitting a patch of bumpy road on a curve can be particularly unnerving. - The V6 4.0 seems surprisingly underpowered. - Front leg room. A little cramped for anybody over 6' tall.
