Luxury for $10k less !
I now have 950miles on my '07 Avalon LTD. Wonderful car. Prior car is '99 Buick Regal, which I love even at 112k miles, just so you know my frame of reference. Avalon makes all roads smoother, less bumps, and quieter. Fuel economy great, at 75mph, computer shows 30mph, my combined average city/hwy so far is around 27....which is way better than my other contenders: Lucerne & Azera. Lot's of power, very smooth no-fuss accelleration. A gentle sound of precision. Highway cruising is great. Effortless driving, stable and tracks perfectly at highway speeds. Around town handling is good, but not quite as fast cornering as my Regal (which had Touring suspension), but then, my wife often scolded me for cornering too fast anyway. Seat comfort is great. Controls easy to use. Easy Start system seemed weird for a few days, but then you say 'this is great' when you get used to it. I shopped for 18 months, finally chose this car. NO car was 100% for me (nor for most people), but after 18 months and 20 other car test drives, this one is 95% great. I put in 3 stars for Reliability...at 950 miles, how would I really know. Ask me in 5 yrs.!! Interior appearance....Luxury, this is the Limited, remember that. You can easily spend $10k $20k more for Lexus, but how much better can they be? Wish List: they should include body side moldings (protects doors in parking lots). Dealer installed them for $180. I like GM's delayed locking, and their retained power features, neither offered by Toyota. Odometer could be lit better. Computer could offer more data (like GM does). So there you have it: 95% excellence, and only -5% for my wish list items.

Not Your Father's Avalon
Drove the Touring version. Nailed the pedal. Slick, rain-soaked road. The car went straight, quickly without a hint of spin. Punched the brakes. Hard. It stopped...straight. From a standstill on a curve, I nailed the pedal. No torque steer. No spin. The cabin is dead silent. The JBL radio is sweet. This car is bullet proof. There are prettier cars but this one ain't ugly. The hind quarters are flat out handsome. Its big and cushy but quick enough in stopping and going to keep it all interesting. Want a plush tourer? Buy this one. It is a value that in today's automotive world is all too rare. Be smart buy it, pocket the difference and in 10 years use the savings with interest to buy a Warhol print or a quarter share of Berksire Hathway.

Very nice for the Money
My sister owns a Caddy xxx and my Avalon Limited has more interior room, more trunk room and about the same options. The button seat adjustment is better, due to the fact when her and her husband walk to the caddy together the seat goes haywire.
