Love the convertible
Bought a Black, one owner, certified 06 Solara SLE Convertible with 31000 miles on it. Room for 4 adults, excellent trunk space with top down (unlike the hardtop of Chrysler & Volvo) and Toyota reliablity. Driven it about 4000 miles since June 2011. No problems, no worries, great ride.

Great car
I have probably owned over 30 cars (no, I'm not a dealer just a car junky), and though I'm typically not a fan of Toyota, this car has been a great car. Its comfortable, has smooth acceleration with good power, well executed interior and gets good gas mileage for a V6. Again, though this was not my typical type of car (Mercedes / Volvo/SUV/Truck/Sports Car) it has been a pleasure to own.

A nice not-a-sports-car
This car is pretty to look at and its quiet and comfortable to ride in even with the top down. It has ample interior room for four adults and more than adequate trunk space. The model's discontinued and owners tend to hang on to them so I was lucky to find a low mileage example. The car has been a hit with everyone who's been in it. I can't think of any complaints. I've had it a couple of months now and it "just works".

I love this car! If it blew up, I would buy again!
I purchased my 2006 Solara Convertible in February 2011. It is white with a black top. I use it for fun, commuting, and anything else that requires me to drive. Prior to this purchase, I had a 2002 Solara Coupe that I purchased new in June 2002 and sold in January 2011. I am no stranger to the Toyota Solara. I love my convertible. So far, it is very reliable. I expect nothing less from Toyota. In my lifetime, I have owned 3 Toyotas and this is the 1st that I bought used. That's how reliable and trouble free these cars are to me. I have reached 200,000 miles on my first 2 without any problems. So far, this car deserves 5 stars in each category. To be honest with my experience, I rated performance slightly lower for 2 reasons. 1) The soft top makes it easier to hear outside noise. It sounds like a window is down. THIS IS ONLY NOTICABLE WHEN DRIVING WITHOUT ANY MUSIC OR TALKING. Don't let this deter you from a purchase. If you listen to music (of course, normal level not teenage level), you will not notice any difference in cabin noise than riding in a hardtop Solara coupe or other Toyota car. 2) The ride seems to be a little more shaky than the coupe. Bumps in the road seem to rattle/shimmer the car more in the convertible than in my coupe. Honestly, I notice it but I don't care. I love this car more than my other 2 cars. On a side note, I changed my tires 2 weeks after purchasing the car and I believe that has an impact to my ride experience. I remember some shake with the original tires but I didn't have those tires on long enough to remember. For me, I am so happy with this purchase. If something happened to this car, I would search the entire USA for another one. By the way, there were only 12 available in white within 500 miles when I made my purchase. There were 52 available in all color combinations within my 500 mile radius. That should let you know that people hold on to the Solara! Good luck with your search! You won't regret this car!

this car is a bottomless money pit
I had this car for 4 years and I spent over 10,000 dollars on it in the first 2 months I had two replace both the headlights and all four of the hubcaps. I had to replace the top because the rear window fell out on the freeway . so unless your willing to pay tons of money don't buy this car.

I LOVE CARS - HAVE OWNED MANY - BEST EVER
I am a true car lover. After looking at these cars on the road for the past five years, I found exactly what I wanted in June of 2010 with 54,000 miles. It is just like new in every detail and after driving it the past ten days on a 1,700 mile vacation trip, I love it even more. This car performs well no matter where you drive it, and I averaged a true 27.3 miles per gallon on this trip - what a deal. I bought the RED with BEIGE TOP and sand interior - absolutely beautiful and we get a lot of compliments everywhere we go. I suggest that Toyota consider bringing this one back on the market with very few changes - PLEASE!

Amazing deal for the money
I went to test drive this exact car and it was exactly what I saw online. The car looks great and performs great. A slight turn of the wheel and the car reacts instantly. The interior is spacious and clean. The only defect was two scratches across the top of the trunk but an easy fix. It is an amazing deal for the value of the car.

Smooth, Quiet, Confortable
WhyToyota is discontinuing this car I'll never know. My 06 SLE V6 is the 2nd consecutive one ive had. I REALLY like it. It has enough power (more acceleration with standard auto-stick), it rides very smoothly and quietly. It doesnt handle like a sports sedan, but it is far better than most American sedans. It has all the safety and comfort options and is bullet proof! I found one with 11,600 miles used.
